I am just never satisfied with hair cuts!!!

I have a great hairdresser, I have been going to him for the past 10 years. I grew my hair very long this past year and it was in need of a cut, because the ends were thinning out.

I have thick indian hair.

Yesterday I asked for no layers, and just a face frame and a trim. I am not fussed about the length because some of that really needed to go.

But I am unhappy because even though it looks great styled, the face frame has been cut quite deep into my hair. It looks like layers. It's not the worst hair cut ive ever recieved. Styled it looks great (I'll have to figure out more ways to style it). It doesn't look bad I guess, it does frame my face nicely.

I just hate the fact that a lot of hair in the front has been cut off.

one side of the face frame also looks like it has been cut deeper into my hair. Maybe I am just too precious about my hair.

But I am just never satisfied. I think I need to learn how to cut my own hair so that I can maintain my own hair.

I am more disciplined than I thought!!

So, I’m at the very beginning of my weigh loss journey (probably on my 6000th attempt), I’m 28F.

I really reached a point where I was truly, honestly, deeply sick of myself. Not in a hateful way, but in a way that I genuinely believe I DESERVE to feel free in my body. I started at 5’4 192lbs. That was a couple weeks back. I was shocked.

The highest I’ve ever, ever been.

Today I’ve weighed in at 188lbs. I know and am positive I’ll lose another lb by the end of this week, and slowly but surely the scale will continue to go down.

I’m following a calorie-counting 2-meal a day plan.

I joined a small 30-day accountability challenge on WhatsApp. The plan is to do 10k steps, and post a photo of every meal (or snack) in the GC.

I’ve been on it from day one, posting everything. I feel like the other members are really inactive. I get it though, I’ve been them before.

But I’m wondering, how am I this disciplined this time? It’s a true blessing. But I think I really, really am done with it.

I’m surprising myself with my discipline so far. lol.

The strange feeling that we’re all performing.

I can’t help but feel society is so performative. I spend an awfully long time scrolling and on social media because I have nothing better to do, and I find myself constantly feeling out of touch and quite cynical of society and just life, in this modern day.

I’m a woman in my late 20s. The constant engagements, baby showers, weddings, birthdays, luxury resort holidays, travelling, etc all these celebrations, of life and love apparently, just feel a copy and paste from the previous scroll.

Life just feels like a massive performance at this point, a dramatisation of reality.

Everybody just seems to be doing it because they’ve observed another person doing it and felt like doing the same thing.

Then I think, aren’t we all doing this? Maybe true authenticity and originality doesn’t exist. Maybe there never was authenticity/originality…I don’t know. I don’t know anything anymore…or maybe I never did.

Even those involved in spirituality appear to me to be performing. How could I even know if they’re not? I’m not living their internal experience.

I feel like I’m on the outside looking in, but also not separate from it all.

Can’t explain it!

Could I give cakes to my local gurdawara to give out in langar seva?

I know it sounds a bit odd, but I've been trying my hand at baking recently, and I love it. I have been making eggless vegetarian cakes, and I want to keep practising my cake-making skills. So I thought about maybe, once a week, baking and slicing up my cake and giving it to the gurdwara to give out in langer seva?

Not sure if my local gurdwara would accept this, what do you guys think?

Anybody who’s sat SQE1 and doesn’t have a legal job right now?

I know, it’s terrible. I graduated in 2024, immediately I started the ULAW masters SQE1+SQE2 in September 2024. The plan was always to finish, and secure some sort of paralegal work.

I had a lot of issues. I had to take a 6 month intermission due to caring responsibilities toward my father. I was struggling a lot during this time. Ive only just finished masters in March 2026. Ive only just sat SQE1 July 2026, and now awaiting results.

It’s fair to say, I have no idea what I’m doing. The only legal experience I have is legal clinic experience (6 months or so) I had during university. I never applied for TC’s because I just didn’t feel confident or ready enough.

Right now, I don’t have any job. My last exam was on Thursday (FLK2) and the panic is already setting in that I’m unemployed and I have no idea what to do.

I live in a small town, I am close to London (can get there quickly on the high speed) so I can apply to a lot of places.

But I’ve been thinking maybe instead of applying for paralegal work, which seems to be difficult to find, maybe I should apply to different things like claims handler, compliance, legal operations etc etc. Then maybe after gaining some experience I can apply for paralegal roles and advance from there.

It all feels abit like a waste now. I’ve been clueless for so long about what I’m doing that now I’m embarrassed about my situation. I don’t even know if anybody would employ me as a paralegal since I significantly lack experience and it’s getting harder and harder to get in to those jobs.

Also, if anyone has ideas on how to improve my CV - what I could to add to it, I’d be most appreciative.

FLK2 tomorrow, I know I am going to fail.

I have found myself in a position where I did prioritise FLK1 content and didn't pay enough attention to FLK2. While I have a broad understanding of the topics in FLK2, I certainly can't pick out the details, which is exactly what this exam requires to pass.

I know given the time/practice, I could pass FLK2 in a second sitting. I don't have a TC to lose; I don't have any legal job at the moment, so I guess all I have to lose is money and a blow to the ego, also my sanity for the next 6 months, I am tired of the SQE now.

I felt incredibly burnt out after FLK1, it was almost like being jet-lagged. I literally only feel energised today. I tried every day to study but my body just couldn't. Also, there were tears, depressive episodes, rage at myself and everything in between, I've felt very emotionally unstable etc.

I guess I am writing this post to say, I know I'm going to fail FLK2 tomorrow; how should I spend the rest of the day? I am no good with failure. But it is what it is.

I have gone over some topics today, but it's just not enough. I did some SBAQs some were okay, some were just completely wrong.

So what I guess I'm asking is, how do I cope?

I’m struggling so much with my faith in God.

I’m 28F, I never thought I’d say this. Nobody can answer this or fix this for me, so I’m just going to tell you how I’ve been feeling and see if anybody has any advice, possibly?

I’m born to a devout Sikh mum, who contributed to me developing my faith in God. I’ve spent a lot of time in my life leaning on Sikhi, seeking God, trying to understand.

The truth is, I don’t understand anything at all. I’ve become desperately depressed over the past 2 yrs, and I’ve been genuinely depressed in my life several times before, and I just cannot get past the feeling that God cannot hear me. I’ve cried, begged, spoken, surrendered, and still — nothing changes.

Before you tell me, God isn’t the personal God I am thinking of, that he’s not interventionist. Why does SGGSJI make God appear so? Even then, the truth is, no matter how much I read, not matter how hard I try I cannot understand the true nature of God. It appears to me that God is incomprehensible.

It hurts me to write this. It kills me actually. I openly declare my faith, but inside I’m a hypocrite because I’m filled with doubt. I’ve cried and called out, I’ve sought internally for God, I’ve sought externally. I don’t understand the Hukam, not just for me but for the world. I don’t get it.

I don’t understand why people have to suffer so much, at the hands of disease, of evil. I don’t understand why no matter how much I do, how much effort I put in, things don’t change. I don’t get why I put so much love out there only to be disappointed and used. I don’t get why things have been much easier for others and I’ve had to struggle, Idk. I’ve always smiled and accepted it. But feelings of bitterness have started developing now, because I don’t understand anything at all and I’m forcing it.

Again, I’m a terrible person in many ways. Maybe that’s why. But life has hurt me in so many ways, both significant and insignificant.

What I would do for conviction, honestly. Because it just feels like there is a silent void where I’m screaming and crying, and nobody answers. So it makes me beg the question, is there even a God?

And I never, ever thought I’d ask such a thing.

Has anyone passed FLK1 even though they ran out of time on one of the exams? Or Guessed the last half?

I felt pretty covered up on content, I felt confident going into the exam until I got there and was told that my passport was expired! And I didn’t have any other forms of ID on me. I was told I can still sit the exam, but it will be flagged to SRA that I didn’t have sufficient forms of ID on me.

I felt like an absolute idiot!!! It expired on the 5th of July this month, and like an absolute idiot I didn’t check!! - I felt so stupid and embarrassed infront of everyone there at the exam centre. I couldn’t believe my own stupidity.

I got abit flustered. Abit teary. Was thinking of just going home. Then the lady said she “doesn’t think anything will come out of it, but she doesn’t know, and that it happened to someone yesterday…”. But my positive - “I can do it!”- attitude was gone at that point.

I almost didn’t sit it. I almost walked away but I couldn’t waste the money/opportunity also. So I just told myself I’ll sit it and see how it goes.

To my surprise I did know a lot of the content, felt like I could distinguish the little details for the first half of the exam… but I was slow. My brain was still flustered. I ended up guessing the last 20-30 questions and the exam closed on me at 87 questions answered and I didn’t even get to finish. I was done at that point.

Went into the car for my break, had a banana, told myself to get it together. The second half was much better paced. I answered everything in enough time. 3 or 4 questions I really didn’t know. Everything else I knew what was being referred to, however idk if I answered properly or made a dumb mistake .

I’m home now. Idk how to feel. Deflated, depressed. I feel ugly too lol. The exam has tired me out.

But idk.

What a day.

And i lost my gold earring so i was walking around the exam centre with one earring in on, what a spectacle. 😭

What are you guys doing in the break?

My exam time start is 8am…

I am not sure if I’ll be able to stomach any food (anxiety), should I take lunch? I was thinking just a quick cereal bar… lol. Maybe a banana for glucose idk.

Not many places to sit where my test centre is. Maybe a cafe somewhere but I don’t fancy going too far from the test centre.

I’ll probably take some water to put in my locker to sip on in the break.

Should I just sit in the waiting room. What did you guys do, or plan to do?

60% in a mock….

Am I doomed? Or is it ok-ish? I’m sitting SQE1 on Thursday…

Sorry just to be clear that was my first mock! It’s bad I know, I’ve just been cramming content up until this point….

Ludovico einaudi experience made me cry so much.

I used to listen to classical music many years ago, while studying mainly. But nothing has moved me like this. I came across ‘experience’ via social media, and I listened to it with my headphones in, and it was the most beautiful thing I’ve ever heard.

It pulled me in. Like God himself is between every note. How can something sound so beautiful, ecstatic, and melancholic at the same time? It’s the epitome of a beautiful tragedy.

I cried so much, cannot figure out why! It just moved me so deeply. Like life and death, and everything in between depicted perfectly within 5 minutes.

Please tell me of any other classical music that has such an intense feel to it. I would love to hear it. Thankyou 💗

Anybody’s body feel destroyed by the exam?

I’m sitting FLK1 July 16th and FLK2 23rd. I already feel destroyed like, I haven’t had my period this month. I haven’t been exercising so my body feels tight. Chest feels heavy. Dreams are about the exam (lol). My digestive system is messed up from the sedentary-ness as I’ve been sitting more hours than I’ve been moving a day. I feel bloated and tired.

Blergh. I can’t wait to be done. So I can be free, and and feels movement and energy. Saying that, I probably will go for a walk mid-day today bc I’m tired of feeling like shit.

Anyone else or just me?

Hair Progress - 2 years of growth

1st pic - July 2024
2nd pic - April 2025
3rd pic - May 2026
4th pic - July 2026

I had 1 trim and some layering done last year August 2025. Other than that, I’ve just let it grow.

Hair routine:

Very little hair oiling as I’ve been dealing with oily scalp issues which I believed are hormonal. Occasional henna hair mask (pure henna). Good clarifying shampoo and deep conditioners on ends of hair (I like garnier banana deep conditioner). That’s it really. Little blow drying, no straightening. I use hair sticks when I can to keep my hair in a bun. I find them protective.

Air conditioning units sold out all over the UK.

I have searched far and wide for air conditioning units today, I am not coping well with the heat during the night, the heat and hay fever are killing me!! I’m getting no sleep. I’m so stressed! I have an elderly father with heart disease fgs!

Air con is completely out of stock. People have bulk purchased for resale. For those who’ve done this. It’s not business acumen, you’re not an entrepreneur, you’re just an asshole…

I literally cannot even find one air conditioning unit to keep my house cool. Wtf.

FLK1 & FLK2 are around the corner, I am panicking...

I guess I want some words of advice or encouragement. I don't feel like I am 'done' going through everything, there are still a lot of areas I need to cover.

Starting tomorrow, I am going to be doing a lot of hours of SBAQ practice just going back and fourth between different topics, and just memorising the notes I do have (which i feel have some gaps but oh well, it is what it is). Reading over the textbook and filling in any gaps.

I just feel not ready, and like I'll never be ready, and I would say that is down to not doing enough SBAQ practice. I will be literally drilling the SBAQS this coming week, until the exam. I have 3.5 weeks until FLK1 and a month until FLK2.

I do not feel ready!! But I am willing to do anything to pass, even if that means studying 18-20 hrs a day through the excruciating heat...

Anyone feeling the same? worried? anyone who felt the same and succeeded anyways?

anything at all!!

I am screaming into the SQE void...lol

How to feel hopeful again about life?

I’ve struggled with maintaining a stable sense of joyfulness and happiness my whole life, but I always had hope.

Hope that things will get better. Well I’m 28 now, things aren’t bad, they’re just not the way I’d hoped.

I do practice gratitude as much as I can.

I just feel like I put myself down so much, I don’t have many friends. I don’t want to look back on a half lived life. How to feel hopeful again? I want to live more, do more.

I’m coming out of a very dark phase which lasted over 2 yrs. I had been so depressed and hopeless. I lost the ability to dream. It was sad.

I feel like the realities of life really hit you as you get older. I dive into spiritually, I know happiness and sadness are two sides of the same coin - why does than not bring me true comfort?

I just want to be cradled by the universe. How to get that feeling? I know I sound crazy!
