Hi all… me again! I’m becoming a regular poster in this group after you’ve all been so helpful with guidance on a puppy I’m wanting to home.

Long story short: this puppy is the second smallest (to his sister) of the litter. His mum is a lean standard poodle at 40lbs and (18kilo) & 21 inches tall. His dad is the same height & a show golden retriever. The puppy is 11.5 weeks old and weighing 7lbs.

Admittedly I was relieved at first, as we originally wanted a mini but fell in love with this guy. However after reading so many forums, I’m starting to think this little guy may be underweight as he seems even lighter than a mini? He does have short legs, so not sure if his growth could be stunted?

Would love your thoughts. Thanks all!

Hey doodle gang!

After you all being SO helpful regarding a (F1) GD I’ve fallen in love with and considering homing, I have asked for his weight. (Background: we were looking for a mini & accidentally came across this standard that we love)

So he’s the 2nd smallest of the litter to his sister & he’s currently 7lbs at 11.5 weeks. Mum is a standard poodle (smaller side at 21 inches - same as dad’s height) but she weighs 41lbs.

Did anyone else have a standard weigh in at 7lbs at 11.5 weeks or is this more in line with miniature weight?

Will love this pup regardless if we go ahead but trying to make the sensible decision for our family & lifestyle.

For around 5 years now my husband and I have wanted a goldendoodle but haven’t been able to home one as we knew we would go abroad for work & never wanted to put a dog through flying.

We are now settled back home & are finally making the jump. I have looked and looked and have fallen in love with this little guy. I’ve spoken to the breeders who are experienced, both parents are shown & are KC registered. Their health scores are very good from the research I have done. However, we were always going to get a mini and these are standard. The breeder said this little boy is the second smallest of the litter & the image is after having his hair brushed (it’s more curly when wet)

The mum and dad are on the smaller side for their breeds at 21inches.

I was wondering if any goldendoodle owners out there can tell me what his fur may be & his height in the future, given your experience with this lovely breed. Also what your experiences are with F1 doodles?
