Should 4A Games stick to the February 2027 release window for Metro 2039, or delay it to avoid competition?

Hey everyone,

With 4A Games locking in Metro 2039 for February 2027, I’ve been looking at the upcoming release calendar, and that month is shaping up to be an absolute bloodbath.

Look at what else is scheduled to drop in February 2027 alone:

Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis (Feb 12)

God of War: Laufey (Feb 16)

Persona 4 Revival (Feb 18)

Fable (Feb 23)

Metro 2039 (Feb 2027)

On one hand, as a huge Metro fan, I want to play Metro 2039 as soon as humanly possible. On the other hand, launching in the middle of four other massive AAA blockbusters could hurt sales, reviews, and general mainstream discourse especially when casual gamers have to decide which $70 game to buy.

What do you all think?

Should Deep Silver and 4A Games stick to their guns and release in February?

Or would it be smarter to push it back a month or two into Spring 2027 so it gets the full spotlight it deserves?

Why Assassin’s Creed Hexe's Setting is Darker Than You Think

Most people immediately think of Salem when they hear "witch trials," but 16th–17th century Holy Roman Empire (Germany) was the true epicenter of the witch-hunting craze.

Over 20,000 people were executed across German states during this period, making events like the Würzburg and Bamberg Witch Trials some of the darkest chapters in European history.

Why this setting is built for Assassin’s Creed:

Templar Paranoia as a Weapon: The Inquisition and local Prince-Bishops used mass hysteria to root out political rivals and dissidents. In AC lore, framing Assassins or Isu-sympathizers as "witches" to justify burning them at the stake is a brilliant Templar tactic.

The Malleus Maleficarum was published in Germany in 1486, this infamous witch-hunting manual was used to justify brutal interrogations. Imagine this text being secretly commissioned by a Templar faction to hunt down practitioners of Isu knowledge.

Germany’s dense, foggy wildernesses (like the Harz Mountains and Black Forest) offer incredible potential for eerie, atmospheric stealth mechanics and hidden sanctuaries.

Assassin's Creed Codename Hexe has the chance to be the single darkest, most tonally unique entry in the entire franchise.

Here’s a close look at the Assassin's Creed Hexe easter egg in Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced.

We’ll be able to climb and parkour on this building in the game. Judging by its size, it looks like the cities in AC Hexe might be a parkour heaven.

Nothing has been officially confirmed by Ubisoft, but it's certainly an interesting tease.

PrismML is announcing Bonsai 27B: the first 27B-class model to run on a phone.

Bonsai 27B is the new multimodal flagship of the Bonsai family. Based on Qwen3.6 27B, it brings a new capability tier to local AI: multi-step reasoning, structured tool use, long-context workflows, and coherent agentic loops. Until now, models in this class have been impractical to deploy locally. A 27B model occupies roughly 54 GB in 16-bit precision, and even a strong 4-bit build is around 18GB - too large for a phone and for most laptops. Bonsai 27B changes that. It comes in two variants: • Ternary Bonsai 27B: 5.9 GB, 1.71 effective bits per weight, optimized for laptop-class quality. • 1-bit Bonsai 27B: 3.9 GB, 1.125 effective bits per weight, optimized for phone-class footprint. Everything is open-sourced today under the Apache 2.0 license.

EngineAI shared a view of its Shenzhen Intelligent Manufacturing Base, claiming an output of one humanoid robot every 15 minutes - that's 35,000 humanoid robots per year, the highest production rate publicly claimed by a Chinese humanoid robotics company

This is the highest output rate announced. besides this EngineAI has another aditional Zhengzhou 10K/year line planned. Its more than from what Leju Robotics, AgiBot, Unitree Robotics, and others have claimed for their humanoid robots per year. So its likely, China ready to output 100K humanoids robots per year.
