WIBTA if I stopped covering for my roommate when she's late to our shared chores?

So me and my roommate Becca have been living together for about 8 months. When we moved in we made a pretty simple schedule, nothing strict, just a rough idea of who cleans the bathroom this week, who takes out the trash, that kind of thing. It worked fine for the first couple months.

Lately she's been "super busy" with some online course she started. I get it, I do. But the thing is I keep picking up her stuff because I hate living in a mess . Last week I scrubbed the bathroom because it had been sitting for like 12 days. The week before that I took the trash out three times in a row. I haven't said anything because I didn't want to start drama over chores, feels a bit petty.

But yesterday she had her friend over and I heard her tell him that she "keeps the apartment really clean." I wasn't even mad I was just kind of stunned. Like I'm standing there with dish gloves on and she's saying that. I didn't say anything in the moment but I've been thinking about it ever since.

I'm not gonna flip out or make a big deal out of it, I just want to stop covering for her and let things pile up until she notices. No yelling, no passive agressive notes, just stop doing her half and see what happens. My friend thinks I should just talk to her directly but honestely I've tried hinting and it goes nowhere. WIBTA?
