Windows search box opens up fully Black

For some reason, when I open up the windows searchbar it shows it black. By opening, clicking, and closing a few times it eventually gives me the normal searchbar, but the issue reappears the next time I open it.

Restart did not help.

What to do before playing Umineko for the first time?

Is it recommended that I install some patch first? I think I might've heard something like that, but not sure as it was a long time ago...

Also, there was the question arcs game and answer arc game. I assume that I should play the question arcs first and then the answer one.
