One of the great Soul records

Mighty Sam McClain was a Southern soul-blues singer with one of those very memorable voices Give It Up to Love was released in 1993 on AudioQuest Music, and it became one of Mighty Sam McClain’s big comeback records

The copy I own is the Analogue Productions 45RPM 2-disc pressing. Honestly, it might even better than the first pressing as the quality is impressive.

If you want to test how your system handles vocals, this record is a great one to put on! Mighty Sam’s voice should sound huge, rich, and right in front of you

Is this one of the best versions of Autumn Leaves?

If you are getting into jazz vinyl, Somethin’ Else by Cannonball Adderley is one of those Blue Note records you will probably hear about very quickly.

The album has Cannonball Adderley on alto saxophone and Miles Davis on trumpet, which already makes it special as both are huge names in jazz.

The highlight for me is Autumn Leaves. This is a jazz standard that many musicians have played, but this version feels especially elegant. If you are new to jazz, this album will be a good easy entry.

I listened to the Analogue Productions pressing, and the sound quality is excellent

One of Rock’s Greatest Live Albums

In my opinion, one of the most important and famous live rock albums ever recorded.

This album captures Deep Purple during their Japan concerts and full of classic hard rock moments. “Highway Star,” “Smoke on the Water,”and “Child in Time” are all iconic. Many of the tracks have high replay value.

If you do not own any Deep Purple album yet, i recommend Made in Japan

Yamamoto Trio – Live in Montreux

If you know Japanese jazz, you know pianist Tsuyoshi Yamamoto for his clean studio albums like Misty. This record is different as it is recorded live at the 1979 Montreux Jazz Festival under the audiophile Three Blind Mice label. It is a late-period Three Blind Mice live album which makes it different from the usual TBM studio/audiophile-room feeling

I logged the full pressing/listening notes on analoqs.com too, since I’m trying to keep a proper vinyl archive

If you're new to blues, this album is great

This is an old album recorded in 1963 and is a well-regarded classic blues album. Chess Records released Folk Singer during the 1960s folk music boom, hoping to appeal to the growing folk audience. Ironically, Muddy Waters was primarily known as an electric blues musician

Muddy Waters' voice is just incredible and "Good Morning Little Schoolgirl" is my favourite track.

You can't go wrong with this album

This Vinyl Is a Cinematic Experience

Dire Strait is a very famous 80s band. For many people, the most famous album by Dire Straits is Brothers in Arms. However, my favorite is Love Over Gold.

This album has an incredibly cinematic and atmospheric presentation. In "Private Investigations", you can hear footsteps, doors opening, glass shattering, whispers, and many subtle background details. On a good system, these sounds create a movie-like atmosphere.

However, the best part is the guitar. "Love Over Gold" showcase his exceptional and expressive fingerstyle playing

Any Other Three Blind Mice Fans Here?

Managed to pick up a first pressing of Sunday Thing by Toshiyuki Miyama & The New Herd for a surprisingly good price.

For those unfamiliar, this was released on the legendary Three Blind Mice label, which is famous among jazz collectors and audiophiles for its exceptional recording quality.

What impressed me most is how smooth and organized the recording sounds. Big band albums can sometimes become crowded or messy, but despite the large ensemble, every instrument on this record occupies its own space beautifully.

The recording quality is also incredible. Turn up the volume and the music really comes alive it genuinely feels like you're sitting in front of a live orchestra. I can definitely understand why so many people speak so highly of Three Blind Mice recordings.

Its also good to test my hi-fi system

Is There Any Metal Album Better Than The Black Album

Picked up the 2LP reissue of The Black Album. The first pressings are so expensive

Honestly, I was pleasantly surprised by how good this reissue sounds for the given price i paid for. Played through my setup with an MM cartridge, the guitars sound massive and the drums hit hard. "Enter Sandman" still sounds as powerful as ever, but I think the whole album is good from beginning to end.

Lucky Rare Solid Blue Find

I managed to pick up a Japanese EOP-80778 pressing of Dark Side of the Moon at a flea market by chance.

Early pressings features the famous solid blue triangle label, a design that collectors often look out for. Most later copies use an outlined blue triangle instead. Considering that Dark Side of the Moon is one of the most iconic and best-selling albums of all time, finding an early pressing like this was quite special.

I played it through my vintage JBL 4312 speakers and was surprised by how full and immersive it sounded. The clocks and bells at the start of "Time" seemed to fill the entire room and linger long after they rang, and that is my favourite part of the album.

Anyone knows does the japan pressing compare with the UK pressing in your experience?

I have been reviewing my collections you can see my review here if interested.

Is there a good place to log vinyl reviews

my dad has been collecting for 20+ years, has bought 1000+ vinyls. He likes writing and reading vinyl reviews but it seems like there is no one good website where people log/find reviews. Im thinking I can quickly make one website but would anyone be interested in reading his reviews and also write their own reviews?

is there already a website that has lots of review recommendations?

How does your team manage internal knowledge and documentation?

I'm researching how growing teams manage internal knowledge and documentation, and figured out that managers will probably have a much clearer picture.

How are you guys handling this today? Are there any tools or processes you rely on?

And if not, has it just not been a big enough problem to solve yet?

Would love to hear how you guys approach this issue

How do you use ai for your notes workspace?

Hoenstly over time my workspace always turn into a mess.

My notes became outdated, duplicated, and just scattered everywhere

If i used ai to fetch my information, it would just read those outdated information and give bad answers in general

So I decided to use AI integrated to my notes workspace as a librarian instead of a search engine.

Rather than helping me find information, I wanted it to continuously organize, deduplicate, update, and connect information as my workspace grew.

and now i can just manually upload any document i want, and ai will find the best file/folder to edit/create/delete for me

wonder if anyone else has been using ai in this way? Or only for search and retrieval as always?

I will not promote. Should i focus on building MVP for b2b or start trying to get b2c customers?

I am currently building a notes workspace app which i believe will be more suitable for teams to use. It focuses more on a scattering of documents problem which natively occurs more in team based situations, rather than individual situations. The problem is, trying to code out a full b2b version requires much more time to make the collaboration features, and honestly at this point i dont even know if my MVP/product is good. Which is why im thinking of targetting b2c first which is what most notes apps do. However, i think the product appeal for b2c customers are lesser than say , a team. What should i do? any advices

My notes kept becoming a mess, so I built a self-organizing workspace for myself

Im a pretty minimalist guy so i only really needed the "note" taking function. However the only feature i needed, but wasnt present in most notes app was the ability to organise my notes properly.

Over time, my workspace would turn into a mess.

My notes became outdated, duplicated, and just scattered everywhere

If i used ai to fetch my information, it would just read those outdated information and give bad answers in general

So I decided to experiment with using AI to organize the workspace itself rather than just search through it.

As new documents are added, it helps reorganize information, merge duplicate content, connect related notes, and keep knowledge from drifting over time.

Now i can just manually upload any document i want, and ai will find the best file/folder to edit/create/delete for me

Do anyone use ai to organise their notes?

I think there has been a trend of using ai to search for documents that people cannot find. However many times my documents are outdated/there is a big contradiction between notes.

I have been expereimenting with using ai to oragnise notes instead. As new documents are added, it helps reorganize information, merge duplicate content, connect related notes, and keep knowledge from drifting over time.

wonder if anyone is doing the same?
