Was making a review of my turntable and this happened. Did I just damage my stylus? I mean, the sound is still fine after this happen so...

Was demonstrating the auto stop feature and I moved the arm too close to the end accidentally. Did I damage the stylus?

Record is Mark Morrison - Return Of The Mack (25th Anniversary)

I wanted Artist pages in Apple Music to feel more alive

I’ve always loved discovering music through Apple Music, but I’ve often felt Artist pages could do more than simply organize albums and songs.

Over the past few years, we’ve been building MD Vinyl, a vinyl-inspired music player designed around Apple Music. One part of the app we kept coming back to was the Artist page.

Our goal wasn’t to add more content. It was to give every artist a stronger visual identity, to make each page feel like you’re stepping into their world, instead of browsing another list.

The redesign brings together artwork, typography, subtle motion, and quick access to an artist’s music, creating an experience that feels more immersive while staying familiar to navigate.

This video is a walkthrough of the new Artist page in MD Vinyl.

I’d genuinely love to hear what fellow Apple Music users think.

My kids asked me why

My zoomer kids asked me why there was a nickel taped to the arm of my record player, lol. Never occurred to me that that would be old-school knowledge at this point.

Context: this has been in a back room in storage for the better part of a year. The arm was damaged and bent slightly during a stare to state move and the nickel was to help keep enough weight on the needle to play until we could afford a new player. I was taking it out and cleaning it up and this picture was from right after I opened the cover so it’s still pretty dusty.

The player belonged to my mother and it’s more sentimental than anything that I hold on to it. 😁I’ve a newer player that is pristine and actually hooked up in the living room.

Very distorted audio

Hi all, I just got this L-3866USB after my Sansui unfortunately died down. I expected it to maybe be a downgrade but still playable. My setup consists of a Philips FA564 and B&W Vision speakers. I tried the Lenco out today and unfortunately the sound produced is way too distorted and sounds like a deepfried meme. Is there an easy way to identify the problem? Is it the needle of this used Lenco player, or could it be my speaker cables? (They have ‘loose copper wires’ (?) at the end but they worked fine with my Sansui. Im a bit of a noob still so thanks for any help! :)

Google AI has me stressing about whether this is packed too tight. This is okay right..

Have been collecting for awhile now. Never had an issue with ring wear except on some of the second hand stuff I've picked up over the years but my OCD got the better of me and I turned to Google to ask if this was too tight and of course it said yes. I see there is a slight lean in the middle cubbie and the right and left are upright but I can fit my finger through the middle of the stack without issue so I know there is some kind of breathing room there. I was just seeing how the community felt about how I have it set up because of course a human would know better than ai lol

Help ruin my evening!

I recently bought a lot of records off FBMP for cheap. No info except that "there was no garbage" turns out they were all garbage! I spent a few days entering every one of these absolute stinkers into an excel spreadsheet and feel like I was tricked into paying someone to haul their garbage away.

I'm going to open up a nice Alberino and listen to one of these abominations and need someone to help me choose which one.

pick a number between 1-1024 and the highest upvoted choice after 30 minutes I will listen to in its entirety... unless it is the Puff Daddy or Bill Cosby albums

please note that with the exception of about 6 of these records this is one of the worst collection of records ever assembled so the chances are very high that no matter what you pick you will ruin my evening.

there are 2 jazzercise albums in here at different locations so may the odds be ever in your favor

EDIT: Here is the list! Bangers!

What’s the most expensive vinyl you’ve ever bought?

We'd never really thought about how much some records are worth until we ended up down a rabbit hole looking at the most expensive vinyl records ever sold. Some of the prices are genuinely wild, but it got us wondering about everyday collectors too!

What's the most you've ever spent on a single record? Was it a rare pressing, a signed copy, a grail you've been hunting for years, or just an album you had to own? Did you ever regret the purchase, or was it worth every penny?

For anyone interested, our very own Shane pulled together some of the most expensive vinyl records ever sold https://www.av.com/blog/most-expensive-vinyl-records/

Would love to hear the stories behind your biggest vinyl purchases.

4 different records from 4 different sellers on Discogs all sold as NM.

Are my expectations unrealistic? I usually am fine with VG+ but as I’m buying these for quadraphonic listening, I’m seeking out the cleanest possible copies. The irony is that majority of the records I buy labeled as VG+ arrive in better condition than these..
