This is for the base of a bag and no matter how careful I’min the yarn orientation I get this weird stitch column pulling.

Pattern reads as:

Row 1 (RS): Sl1k wyib, *K1, Sl1 wyif*,
repeat *-* until 2 sts remain, K2.

Row 2 (WS): Sl1 wyif, Sl1 wyib, *P1, Sl1
wyib*, repeat *-* until 1 st remains, P1.

I’m still a newbie and not sure what I’m doing wrong and so tired of frogging and starting over
