Persistent Inner Thigh Rash, advice please!

Persistent Inner Thigh Rash, advice please!

I have had this rash on my inner thigh for months. I don’t have health insurance and did see a PA at a walk in clinic several months ago…. and then another time about two months ago. It won’t go away. I was prescribed oral fluconazole both times for two weeks each time.

It definitely seemed to get better (with oral antifungals) but it never went away completely. I have tried every single OTC antifungal I can find: clomitrazole, terbinafine, tolnaftate, butenafine, etc. I’ve also tried various plant based soaps and essential oil based creams and soaps: rosemary, oregano, tea tree, and—things like sulfur and salicylic acid based creams. I’ve tried powdered antifungals and even switched to an actual talc based powder after realizing and learning that corn starch based powders can actually feed the fungi that cause this situation.

It’s starting to get warm and humid again and it seems this rash is starting to flair up in a worse way. This week the rash was becoming especially itchy and dried out so I applied some OTC antibacterial cream (generic triple antibiotic cream) and it seems to have helped a lot with the itch and maybe even the itch overall.

I just found a page online that suggested using zinc oxide in addition to antifungals for better results. I know most triple antibiotic creams are also zinc based so i’m wondering if this is the route to go.

Please advise!
