Does this look like it could be in the bone?

I have gone to my primary care twice and nothing changed. It's been about 6 months and it doesn't bother my but going to a hand specialist he said I need an MRI to see if it's in the bone. If it's in the bone I would need my finger amputated.

Black scab on butt cheek that keeps reforming, painless unless irritated (Been like this for 1 year)

I’m looking for some advice on a skin issue that’s been worrying me.

I have a very small bump on my outer butt cheek that has been there for almost a year. It looks like a tiny raised spot with a scab-like top. The scab seems to keep coming back even when I don’t pick at it. The surrounding area is about pea-sized and darker (I have medium-to-dark brown skin, so it may also be hyperpigmentation).

It only hurts if I press on it or mess with it. There’s no bleeding, drainage, or rapid growth that I’ve noticed.

I’m trying to understand if this sounds more like something benign (like an ingrown hair, cyst, or irritation) or if it’s something that should be checked more urgently. I do plan to get it looked at, but I wanted some input first to ease my mind.

Thank you in advance.

Early signs of aging?

I am 19 and concerned 😞 when i am not smiling there seems to be no lines/wrinkles, they are just visible when i smile. Does this look normal or is something up? I moisturize and wear spf daily (i do not think my skin would tolerate a retinol well because it can be rather sensitive). Feel like the lines were never this bad until i caught them in the mirror today! Does it seem like time to start a gentle retinol?

Went to a dermatology office today and the PA was very unconfident with her diagnosis. First it was warts, then after performing a very questionable Wood's lamp test (the PA admitted it was very difficult to see with sunlight in the room) she pivoted to Vitiligo.. I'm rather unconvinced. Seeking thoughts on what this could be?

She is also starting to develop some on one of her elbows.

I suppose the treatment of a topical steroid may be very similar if this is something like psoriasis or eczema??

Forehead texture that just won’t go away. Any ideas?

Hi Reddit! First time posting here, so I’d really appreciate any help.
I’ve been dealing with this stubborn texture on my forehead for a while now and I honestly can’t figure out what it is. Some days it looks better, other days it’s way more noticeable, and sometimes I also get small breakouts with it.
I’ve tried pretty much everything for several months at a time:
Tretinoin and adapalene
A fungal acne-safe routine
Barrier repair with ceramides/cholesterol/fatty acids
Azelaic acid, niacinamide, BHA, AHA, etc.
Nothing has really made it go away. The only things that seem to calm it down a bit are Avène Cleanance Comedomed and the Sungboon Editor Green Tomato ampoule, but even then, the texture is still there.
For context, I do get keratosis pilaris on my arms, so part of me wonders if this could be something similar on my forehead? Or maybe closed comedones, folliculitis, clogged pores, irritation… I’m honestly lost.
I attached photos of how it looks. It changes depending on the day/lighting/angle.
Has anyone had something like this? What would you try next, or what should I ask a dermatologist about?
Thanks so much!

Idk if this is the right place but I just pulled this white thing out of my forehead while cleansing??😭😭

I’ve literally never had anything like this before. It was like actually in my skin and there is still a bit of a bump where it was pulled from. Feels like string?

Searched it up and got different things like sebaceous filaments and grey hairs. Grey hair seems really unlikely considering I’m a teenage girl and this seemingly appeared overnight?

Idk any advice is helpful😭

Is this active Seb Derm or Dry Skin?

Hey guys,

Is this seb derm or dry skin? I’ve been using Nizarol creme daily on the area and nothing seems different. Been using just short of 3 weeks now.

I’ve got some pics before I jumped in the shower and after I had a shower. I used Nizarol shampoo on the area.

Thanks

Help identifying what is causing so much redness!

My partner has pointed out that my face looks “super red” for a few weeks now and I see the same thing when I look in the mirror later on. When I do my skin care routine it doesn’t look red to me. Idk if I’m not reapplying sunscreen frequently enough, because we’ve noticed redness shortly after I wash and on days where I don’t go outside. I put sunscreen on everyday though regardless of outings because my apartment has a lot of windows too.

In the morning I use:
- Weleda Gel cleanser
- C Furelic (used to use a sample from skin ceuticals, recently switched to Paula’s choice because of pricing)
- Cerave moisturizing cream
- Annua zero cast sunscreen

In the evening:
- Weleda Gel cleanser
- Tretinoin
- Cerave moisturizing cream

Weird rash and hive/pimples?

20F, 5’6, 70 kgs, dont smoke or drink, have eczema and dry skin but i never had skin issue like this.

i have started having weird rashes and hives that has developed from no where in the last month, they are specifically on my arm, wrist and shoulder closer to my armpits (all are left side of my body). Some fade abit and come back in a few hours, those i assumes are hives but the one on my wrist have appeared a week ago and stayed the same, it got a crust but it fell off.

they are very itchy and painful sometimes, i thought i was having an allergic reaction (specifically to milk since i started drinking it more) but it doesn’t seem to have anything to do with that. So im very confused and concerned on what this is.

Any help will be appreciated.

PLEASE HELP!! Is this post eczema or is it something else, and how can I get rid of it quickly!!

So to start it off this started a year ago during early March and only on my upper back by my shoulder blades. It was itchy a LOT and was really hard to stop scratching. However, after the summer the itching lessened and the marks which were scattered inflamed circles faded away.

However, during November it came back WORSE. It started on my back then started to spread over my body. Specifically my thighs, above my butt, butt, side of my hips, legs, my neck by my hairline, ankles, and all of my back. The itching became unbearable. I went to the dermatologist during January when she said I just had an eczema flare but it didn’t look like it because it was scabs and red. Not really flaky skin, but maybe skin was a bit dry. My skin itched to the point it would start bleeding. It was a lot easier said than done to stop itching myself. Itching was most common before I went to bed, but I did itch throughout the day and sometimes my skin would turn red.

She prescribed me with clobetasol propionate cream 0.05% since the cream she gave before was not helping.

SIDE NOTE: I stopped using scented laundry detergent and used dryer balls. No scented lotion and only unscented lotion from pumps. I also stopped using my scented body lotion and switched it for dove sensitive skin which i put on before i went to bed and after my showers. I even cut my nails super short.
I didn’t switch anything or do anything differently during my day to day life so im not sure if it was an allergic reaction?

Even with the switch, my skin was still itchy. I could not focus on my school work so I went back to the dermatologist in like March, where she said we had a bad winter and that it’s just eczema (same as before, but looked worse than when she last saw me as it was more spread over.) She prescribed me with prednisone to help the itching where it helped a bit but not for long since it was not long term use. And i continued to use the clobetasol cream she prescribed.

Now the itching is not as bad as it was and im not sure if its due to the season changing or maybe because school is over and I was stressed (although she did say stress was not the cause of my itching episodes) I still do not know why this is happening to me. My friends said maybe it could be a bacterial thing where maybe my skin was exposed to something I sat on (I take bus for transportation) and it’s been in my system ever since?

Anyways the pictures are what it looks like now (only
showing my legs because that’s what it looks like on my back and arms and ankles and everywhere else it is), but I was wondering if it is post eczema since it’s like scarring left. I have been using lotion and bio oil on it for a couple of days and haven’t used the clobetasol cream in a while. Should I still be using clobetasol cream? Is there something else I should do? Any help/advice/knowledge would be appreciated. I just want my old skin back where I didn’t have this and could enjoy summer without feeling insecure. Thank you.

EDIT: I am not saying I do not believe my dermatologist, I just wanted second opinions and wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this. I feel dumb going back a third time
and asking her if it’s still eczema and how to get rid of it.

I don’t know what these are or what to do

I don’t know what these are and what to do :(
I’ve had these tiny closed comedones on my face for months that just won’t go away, and there are these red bumps only on my cheeks. I don’t get pimples. What are these, and how can I get rid of them? Pls help, I just want smooth skin 😭

I’m not sure if my skin is overall dry, but it’s definitely dehydrated—no matter what cream I apply, it gets matte right away and dries out as if I hadn’t put anything on. I have Dr. Althea 345 (doesn’t hydrate) and Aestura Barrier Cream. I was thinking of getting the gentle COSRX Blackhead BHA for the comedons, but I don’t know if it’ll work, and I don’t even know what those red bumps are. I talked too much again sorry but i’m fed up with my skin 😪

pls feel free to ask me or suggest me anything👉🏻👈🏻

How to heal/hide scars?

Hi all,

It's almost summer, and where I live it gets too hot to wear even medium length sleeves, but I have scars from when I quit in December that I'm still trying to heal.

I guess what I'm asking for is like, tips on how to heal them so that they're less visible? they're on top of some stretch marks I have near my shoulder joint, and they mostly blend in apart from one that's a darker pink colour. I've been using bio-oil so far, but I feel like I haven't really seen much change. (that could be because of my existing skin condition, Keratosis pilaris)

or, if y'all have a way to hide them for the time being I'd love to hear it!

sincerely, a girl who is 4 months, 22 days clean. (!!)

Is my skin barrier inflamed or is this something else??

39F and suddenly dealing with tiny, colorless, painless bumps mostly on one cheek. They’re not itchy, inflamed, dry, or irritated — just a weird texture change that you can really only see when the sun hits it right, or when I touch my face. Naturally I have very oily skin with large pores, and my skin usually loves acids/exfoliation. I would say my skin is typically not very sensitive at all.

I’m a skincare junkie and admittedly always trying to optimize/find the “next best thing,” so now I’m trying to figure out if this is irritation, clogged pores, or some sort of reaction. The newest thing I introduced was Platinum Skincare’s vitamin C (Secret Agent), but it never burned or felt irritating. I switched back to CeraVe vitamin C serum once the bumps started, but they’re still there.

Routine is generally:

  • Gentle cleanser AM
  • ZO complexion renewal pads (used for years with zero issues) AM
  • Vitamin C + Korean sunscreen AM
  • in the PM it’s usually: Gentle cleanser + renewal pad + barrier serum + either Adapalene or Medik8 Retinal 20. Sometimes Cicalfate if my skin feels compromised.

Only thing my skin truly hates is tretinoin.

Has anyone had tiny flesh-colored bumps like this from vitamin C, over-exfoliation, fungal acne, damaged barrier, etc.? Trying to figure out what direction to go before I strip my somewhat already simple routine completely 😅

Scarring sores with these clearish whitish jelly plugs please help.

It seems to come from under the skin. Those plugs are in all the pieces in the sore. And builds up throbbing pressure until I get them out. Then omgggg instant relief and a lot of oily blood. They won't even try to begin to heal or go away until I get all the plugs out. And sometimes it's rounds and rounds of plugs for it seems like months. They scar Everytime too. I can't get any answers just the "stop picking " bs. But if I don't they don't get better or go away. Trust me I've tried not messing with it and it just sat there for 2 months unchanged.

What's going on with my upper lip and philtrum?

M/26/6'3"/235 lbs

Late November last year it started getting super cold and my upper lip got very dry, then I went on a trip to DC where it was even colder and it got worse.

I began picking at the lip and biting at it with my lower teeth, and as the skin would come off, it would leave tears and extra bits that went higher and higher, so I kept biting higher and higher, I would say up to just before my mustache line. I stopped biting the area but it became red and has remained as such since, though the redness goes further than where I stopped biting at it.

Now the skin just grows back dry and flaky/cracked/scaly, gets yellow stainage after a while (the yellowness in the picture is exaggerated due to lighting, it isn't that brightly yellow but it is noticeable,) and either falls off on its own while washing, turning in bed, or when I pick at it without realizing even though I know I really shouldn't. I have never gotten to a point where the flakes fall off naturally.

Typically it's a cycle of some very red level of bare skin, a layer of hard flaky dry skin grows on top, the flakes fall off bit by bit due to the aforementioned reasons and don't get a time to really heal the actual skin under it, and repeat. It does not feel at all swollen or like it burns, and produces no odor, ooze, pus, or blood at any stage or the "cycle."

I have tried a revolving door of Vaseline, aquaphor cream, spray, and lip balm, a cold sore cream, plain water, and nothing (keeping it dry, no water, nothing topical.) Nothing has worked.

Piece of Non-Adherent Pad healing into my knee

I wrapped a Non-Adherent pad on my knee without lubrication/ointment yesterday. When I removed it a small layer had been healed into the injury. Do I need to break up the healing skin to pull this out? Or can I leave it?
