ID / Information Help: Is this an Armand Marseille Mold 164? (Photos included)
Hi everyone,
I am looking for some insight into an antique doll I have. The facial features and markings on the back of the head appear to suggest Armand Marseille 164 (or AM 164), but I am having trouble finding solid information on this specific mold number for Armand Marseille.
Here are the details:
- Height: 28 1/2"
- Head Material: Bisque porcelain
- Body Type: Composition jointed body
- Eyes: Glass sleep eyes
- Mouth: Open mouth with teeth
I’ve attached three photos. Two showing the face of the doll and another of a close-up showing the markings on the back of her neck.
Does anyone know if AM actually made a 164 mold, or am I potentially misreading the numbers? Could it be a Kestner or another German maker instead? Any history, rarity insights, or confirmation on the maker would be incredibly appreciated!
Thank you so much for your help!
