Finally got paid — data point for anyone still waiting on FIFA resale refunds
Wanted to share a timeline since this sub helped me understand what was going on, and I know a lot of people are still in the queue.
Got paid today (Aug 17) for 4 Cat 1 tickets to a group stage match in Dallas, resold June 14–15. Came through as a bank wire from FWC2026 US, Inc. (Coral Gables FL) — showed up as "BOOK TRANSFER CREDIT B/O." That's 63 days from resale, so slightly past their 60-day window but not egregiously.
Still waiting on 3 more:
- 2 tickets, group stage, Philadelphia — resold June 21
- 2 tickets, Round of 32, MetLife — resold June 29–30
- 4 tickets, Round of 16, Houston — resold July 3
The part that confused me and might help others:
My account's change history showed all four Dallas refunds as "completed" back on June 14–15. I assumed that meant money had been sent and lost. It didn't. FIFA logs the attempt as completed. The actual card refund had failed silently.
On July 15 I got the "we were unable to issue a refund to the payment card used for your original purchase — provide bank details" email. Submitted same day via the Refund Portal. Money hit ~4.5 weeks after that.
What I'd tell anyone in the same spot:
- If you see "completed" refunds in your change history but no money — don't panic, that's not proof they sent it and it vanished. Check whether you got the bank details email.
- Once you submit bank details, budget roughly a month. Mine took ~33 days from submission to landing.
- Make sure the name on your bank account exactly matches your FIFA account name (middle initial issues have reportedly stalled transfers for people), and use your wire routing number, not ACH.
- I did not need to file BBB/FTC complaints or call repeatedly — it just took time. Not saying that's everyone's experience, but escalation isn't automatically required.
