Octopus Money or VWRP

Hi all,

Looking for some opinions on my wife's separate pension:

  • Age 32

  • SIPP originally set up by her parents when she was a child

  • Has continued contributing £25 per month

  • Current value: ~£18,000

  • Invested in Octopus Growth Fund 3

  • Transferred from Virgin Money to Octopus in 2024

  • Value has grown from ~£12,000 to ~£18,000 since the transfer

  • Of that increase, only £906 has come from contributions

  • Account charges over the same period: £106

A few points:

  • This is not her main pension or workplace pension

  • It's just a separate pension pot that's been ticking along in the background

  • We both invest in VWRP elsewhere and are aiming to retire a little earlier if possible

Given the above, would you:

  • Leave it where it is and let it continue?

  • Transfer it to a lower-cost SIPP and invest in something like VWRP?

Interested to hear what others would do.

Octopus to VWRP?

My wife had an Octopus Money SIPP with £18,000 in.

Since 2024 it's grown £5234 (40.73%) and has had £104.26 account charges.

Fund name is octopus growth fund 3.

This isn't her main pension and is just a little something her parents set up when she was a kid and she's kept popping £25 in each month.

Question is: is she better off transferring it into VWRP or something with much less management fees?

I know you can't give financial advice so I'm not sure whether you're allowed to answer but any suggestions?

Brian Clough Green Jumper

Hey all

Id like to get my dad the Brian Clough Green jumper for fathers day but I want a real good quality version.

Has anyone ever purchased one and if so where did you get it from, what's the quality like, would you recommend?

I know it's ultimately just a green jumper and anyone can make it but just want it to be a nice quality and not a thin cheap one

Thanks

Beginner Data - Thoughts?

Hi,

This is my second row since having the concept 2 and I assume the most important stat is consistency/technique over power and strength. So I spent this row trying to take it slow and steady.

Is there anything glaring from this data that I should be looking at or really should I avoid looking at the data just yet?

Thanks :)

First time user

Had my first ever rowing machine delivered yesterday and today is my first time using it. Have it set to 5 and taking my time learning and honing the technique but oh my god I was knackered after 2.5 mins! Joined the real time feature and how amazing it is to unwind after work and just row against some random person. Whoever the dude with a the Newcastle logo was, damn I couldn't keep up with you!

Love this machine already

Need a sense check: Part 2

A few months ago I posted a picture of my workplace pension to understand how I'm doing - thank you to everyone who responded, whether the comment was positive or constructive.

As a reminder I'm 33M hovering above minimum wage. I contribute the maximum amount my employer matches (8%) and my employer also contributes an additional 4%. So I'm effectively contributing 20% value of my salary

I've since had my annual pension statement and wanted to see how the fund growth rate compares to other workplace pensions out there.

In my pension statement it says the fund growth rate is 3.4% which sounds low? I'm confused because when I look at the performance tab for the last year it actually says 33.34%. I'm getting confused between fund growth rate and performance 🤔

As a sidenote : I've definitely added more than £978.26 myself this year so I imagine a chunk of the employer contribution of £4301 is part of my contribution as well. Not sure why the figures look skewed there.

Once again - thank you to those that have helped me previously and thank you everyone in advance :)
