Has anybody ever seen a 1996-97 E-X 2000 Grant Hill Emerald Redemption card?
So I'm back on my oddball Grant Hill grind at the moment, and while browsing around I saw mention of a card that I have no memory of at all. For context, I was a rabid collector all throughout the late-90s, and 1996-97 E-X 2000 was and still is my single favorite product ever. But I was a middle schooler back then, and I have zero recollection of this card being (or not being) a thing.
According to sources like TCDB and Beckett, there was a 1:500 pack Grant Hill Emerald card that could be redeemed for a full size signed basketball. I can't seem to find any evidence that the card actually made it into circulation though. No photos anywhere, no sales, no results on GemRate of any copies having been graded...it's a complete ghost. Even this lunatic doesn't have one pictured.
I'm pretty convinced it got pulled from the product at the last minute, but I don't remember any news about it at the time. I figured after an hour of scouring the normal resources I might as well float the question here in case somebody remembers something I don't. And worst case scenario, maybe this thread can help save some time for the next guy who starts looking into it.
