Do you have any takes speculating on what inspired particular tracks?

I have a theory that Eat that Question is inspired by Supernaut by Black Sabbath. Frank was quoted as saying Supernaut is his favorite song, and I believe he's also said Eat the Question is his favorite of his own. They both are centered on a main meandering riff rhythmically focused on the downbeat, and which repeats throughout the track but separated by jammy sections. Normally that wouldn't be enough to say it was inspired, but because Frank loved Supernaut so much, it seems likely to me.

What to do in Moscow that is not typical tourist experience ?

I’ve already been to Moscow twice and have seen a lot . But I would also like to immerse myself among Russians more. Either meeting people, going to interesting clubs , meeting people in tech industry, meeting expat Americans. What are some areas people hang out ? Or interesting artistic areas like small theater or small rock club or something. Or even just bars where I can try to talk to people

Last time I saw a concert of Auktion which was cool, Bolshoi, banya in Suzdal. I skated at kremlin and VDNKh in new years, Gorky park.

For this trip I’ll be mostly in Moscow but plan to see St Pet for first time also. My trip is a few weeks in length

this time I would like to push myself to be more social and more immersed

My interests are art and music, tech industry

What are some careers that allow for gaps?

what are some decent careers that can be 'on and off'? like you can do it for awhile like a year, do quit and do something else and then go back to it without much of an issue?

I had a dream that was a Nick Rochefort RPG

I had a dream I was Nick Rochefort. I wrote this down in apple Notes as i woke up. As Nick Rochefort, I was a Mage and my attack was throwing a kind of black oily goo as a weapon but could be upgraded to something called "moss" something, but it was locked currently.

I was in School . Saw a guy be attacked up a staircase by another guy, I immediately jumped into action pulling the back of his shirt, stretching it out until it ripped. then he turned around and pulled out a gun and pointed it at me . I did a jokey bit like "really you’re gonna pull out a gun?" And was just making him feel like a fool. And with that rhetorical skill and confidence, it deescalated. Then as we were standing around, I was breaking his balls about having a gun for several minutes.

But realizing I've been heckling him too much about the gun thing, I suddenly noticed he was swarthy and had a psychotic glint in his eye. I felt scared but then had the thought that I’m sue-i-cydal so it's no big deal and then I was immediately calm.

In class they put us into groups for a project . I was grouped with an Asian girl I tried to catch up with her in the hallway but the floor was slippery and was sliding around and fell but made sure that when I fell, it was elegant and in a slow controlled manner with grace.

Then I left the school but in order to leave, you had to go through this kind of Gypsy-bus-restaurant with people shoulder to shoulder. I Hop out a kind of tent-style zip hole in the back , said thank you to some asian girls who I had to move out of the way cuz there’s no space to move.

I then look at my watch and Realize it’s midnight and way later than I thought it was.

I start walking back to my car in order to go home, through this dark path and a gothic shadowy hooded female figure walks by looking at me and kind of spooks me.

As I start to sense danger, I Look at my inventory and start equipping all my good stuff based on stats. I notice I still can't upgrade to the "moss" slime throw weapon.

It’s dark and scary. Have to go thru a warehouse, but of course as soon as I walk in, a scripted event of an oozing evil bright nuclear light comes in and now I’m timed to make it to other side and leave and it's incredibly anxiety inducing.

But as I'm on the other side, I realize the attacking light must have slowed down bc I shouldn’t have made it based on how fast it was moving at first. I’m digging into my pockets frantically to find my keys in order to open the door to leave the warehouse and after several agonizing pocket searches I finally get the key to the lock. And then I wake up.

Is delusion necessary for motivation?

I've kind of hit a point of something but i'm not sure what. It may be existential depression from knowing too much. One thing I notice is that it seems the reason why I've been stuck for some months is that I don't have a hope or fantasy anymore. I notice that I always have some particular thing. A goal, whatever. But now that I've had essentially everything seem hopeless, it's like I have no motivation. This emptiness seems to come from the lack of hope. And I mean that in a deep way. When I say I know too much I mean I see the recurring pattern and how it's connected to fantasy and naivete. It's as if you need delusion to even do anything. The pattern is that you have some kind of fantasy, and if you attain it, it becomes something else and you're disapointed. But then you find another exciting new fantasy until that becomes disapointing. Its a cycle of disapointment or disillusionment. And I start to see it with everyone doing things how everyone seems to get energy from the belief that it has meaning. That's what I mean by delusion seems necessary as motivation. So it seems like the worst position to suddenly see the pattern. For some people it may be a lofty goal like maybe my writing project will reach people, but for others it may be a new pair of shoes. It's like we are desperate to find a thing that will keep you afloat from nothingness. And when you find it, you get excited and full of energy. And what I've found is that my use of social media makes it worse because it reinforces this awareness by looking into everyone's different lives like a bird's eye view. Because people only see their own bubble. But when you see all of the social bubbles, it becomes even more apparent. The social bubble becomes like a shelter by filtering out the rest of the world. But when you see the higher state there is no shelter anymore. I remember reading Nausea a decade ago and it reminds me of that feeling he was describing.
