West Ham Rebuild
As a lifelong West Ham supporter, I decided to take matters into my own hands and start a West Ham rebuild save starting with the team getting relegated to the Championship.
First order of business was hosting the looming fire sale, selling Bowen, Fernandes, Soucek, Mavro, AWB, Edson, Taty, and the majority of the first team for relatively cheap.
Going into the first season in the Championship , I’ve tried to rebuild the club in a fairly realistic way. Obviously West Ham will not spend most of the money they get for their stars, but they will need to fill in the depleted roster.
Having only kept Scarles, Walker-Peters, and Potts (Championship level English players), I had to address the entire front 4, CM, CBs, and GK.
The big fish I landed for the window were Keito Nakamura(19M), Andres Martín(14M), and Raul Rangel (15M). Nakamura and Martín finished as two of the top goalscorers in Ligue 2 and the Spanish 2nd Division respectively and will surely be looking for moves this summer, while Rangel will probably try to make the move to Europe after featuring for Mexico this summer at the World Cup.
I then went and picked up Noel Futkeu(8M) from SGF after finishing as the Bundesliga 2 top goalscorer, then picked up Darko Gyabi and Mo Cham for 6M each to fill in the midfield.
I filled in the starting XI by partnering Teden Mengi(4M) and Adbulai Bah (Loan) from Luton and City. (Mengi brings a lot of experience while Bah brings more raw talent and potential).
Tell me what yall think about the lineup so far as far as the realism goes, and I’m probably going to post an update at the end of the season with stats🫡
