[TOMT][Anime Movie/OVA][1990s-2000s] Dark, realistic / psychological thriller, where the girl mc is hiding under a woman's dress in a bar/club
Hi everyone, I’m trying to find (and complete) an anime movie (or possibly a multi-part OVA) that I watched a few years ago...
For context, I saw the first 20 mins and then dropped it but now I decided to complete it, but the problem is that I never searched for it on my own so I can't find it on my history or anything; I watched it on someone else's screen and I don't have their contacts anymore.
Info about the film itself:
The art style is hand drawn, and old (Kinda similar to Satoshi Kon's Perfect Blue or Paranoia Agent). I don't recall it being sci-fi or fantasy; it is a grounded, dark thriller/psychological drama.
Here are some of the details I recall from the first 5–20 minutes of the film:
- The Opening Chase: The movie possibly begins with a girl running away from a group of people chasing her through a city.
- The Hiding Scene: She runs into a dark bar or club establishment. To help her hide, a woman (wearing red I believe) sitting there lets the girl duck down, and she hides her completely under her long dress/skirt. The pursuers scan the room, don't see her, and leave.
- The Bedroom Scene: Right after this scene, I recall the girl is in a dark apartment bedroom with an important male character. They are lying bed together having a conversation.
- In this bedroom shot, the bed is on the right, and a large window/balcony is visually on the left side of the screen (to the right of the characters) while blue night light is casted on the futon.
Something probably unrelated:
If i recall correctly the conversation or vibe between them in bed was sorta dark, and the person I watched it with explicitly joked or commented (I'm not sure since I didn't complete the film) that they were going to commit a "double suicide" together, this might be a major plot point or just bluff.
Films I already ruled out:
- Perfect Blue
- Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade
- Kite / Kite Uncut / Kite Liberator
Does this ring a bell for anyone?
