Station preference help?

Hi all!

I recently quit my full time corporate job to pursue becoming a paramedic. Due to not having an entire year of funds saved I’m looking at taking the emr at Coast this November, and pushing for rural work.

My question is on timelines mostly, and what is involved with rural postings:

I have my class 4, can I apply for driver only now to get the application process started?

Once I get to station preference, I don’t mind having to live in Vancouver and drive to work, stay out of town, etc, but what stations are most likely to provide me with multiple (5+) shifts a week where I can come twice a month and just work, sort of like the oil fields? Is that a thing?

Do all stations allow you to sleep at the station if you’re working consecutive shifts?

Can you get 40 plus hours a week if you are willing to travel?

Thanks!
