Tuning a 2024 2.9TT

I have a 2024 976 with the 2.9TT. I'm considering a GIAC tune, done at Champion Motorsport. Its an auxililary company to Champion Motors, a Porsche dealer in South Florida where I bought the car. The tune adds about 65-70hp and 110tq which should be meaningful. The car presently feels good to me but the extra power wouldn't hurt.

Does anyone have a GIAC tune for the 2.9TT? I'm curious to hear any feedback, thanks!

I'm also curious to hear thoughts about the warranty coverage. I am concerned about that. I know that plainly, a tune detected by PCNA will most likely void the powertrain warranty. I am not concerned about the tune causing any issues, as I have had every car I've owned tuned, but if x part happens to break and its considered part of the powertrain, will that be an issue with a tuned car? The guys at Champion tell me that its not an issue but they don't issue the warranty. Should I not worry and go for it? On my last Porsche I had a piggyback which dosent officially flash anything so I was slightly less worried.

OE Wheel Weights

I swapped from 976 21" Sport Design to 971.2/976 21" Turbo Design wheels and I had the opportunity to weigh both.

I've experienced good results in the past from going to a lighter wheel and/or tire combination and when I was looking for new wheels, I wanted to ensure that the new set would at least be a little lighter than the old set.

I was originally looking at mid-range ($4-$6k) aftermarket sets from brands such as BC Forged, but settled on OE for a variety of reasons including proven structural testing and resale/trade-in.

There's only been a couple of OE forged 21" options over the years, but it was hard to evaluate which one was lighter. All 971 and 976 21" wheels share the same width and offset specs.

To my surprise the cast sport design are not too far off of the forged turbos. I wanted to share these weights and perhaps others can chime in if they have weights on the 971.1 forged turbos or anything else they've come across.

976 21" Sport Design (first photo) cast:

Front - 31.2 lbs

Rear - 34.5 lbs

971.2/976 Turbo Design (second photo) forged:

Front - 29.5 lbs

Rear - 32.6 lbs

First top-end oil change - 2.9tt

2024 Panamera

I completed my first oil change on the 2.9tt. This was an intermediate change that I like to DIY every 5,000 miles, in between documented 10k interval professional visits for warranty purposes.

I used my manual pump and pulled 6.75L from the dipstick. I pour it into marked containers to measure exactly what came out, to better estimate what's going back in.

I bought a dipstick to measure and confirm the correct oil level before finally checking the digital instrument panel meter to confirm 3x that it's properly filled. I swapped the filter with an OE replacement and all went as expected. Much easier than going from the bottom, especially for the these intermediate changes.

Leather dashboard protectant

I'm a fairly experienced DIY detailer, but this is my first go around with a full leather interior in my 2024 Panamera. The dashboard was recently replaced under CPO with only 6,500 miles. Upon purchase, I noticed it was warped with a few leather bubbles. The car was sitting in a hot outdoor dealer's lot for a while. I now have it parked under cover, day and night, and use a sunshade whenever parked outside.

I have my own routine for the rest of the leather, including a monthly wipe with a damp, soft microfiber soaked in highly diluted interior cleaner (3D LVP or DIY Rinseless) and the occasional protectant from a few ultra-premium brands. I realize the leather is coated, but I still like the protectant on certain areas, especially on this car, which has had more exposure than normal for its age.

Now that I have a fresh, matte dash, I am hesitant to use anything aside from a quick wipe with the mostly water solution. I also recently bought a bottle of Leatherique Pristine Clean, which supposedly has light-cleaning and light-protectant qualities. I am considering using that.

For those who have had full leather interiors for some time, what have you had good success with, especially on the dashboard?

Metallic Noise only in Sport Plus

I have a 2024 Panamera V6 RWD that I bought CPO with 6,500 miles, now at 10K miles. I'm trying to diagnose an issue that appears only in Sport Plus, when the vehicle is warmed up.

I've noticed a steady metallic noise when in manual mode and accelerating, only in low rpms in 5th gear. I don't hear it in any other gear. The noise is only present when the car is warmed up and in Sport Plus, in any suspension mode or ride height, but only Sport Plus. It almost sounds like an exhaust rattling and making contact with the frame or heat shield.

The it was difficult to pick up on my phone but you can somewhat hear it in the following video:

https://youtube.com/shorts/t7FvPPRMoHI?si=kbhnWuXRFg7Zte8q

My main question is, what else is different in Sport Plus that is causing this noise? If I switch to Sport or Normal and recreate the scenario, there is no noise.

Since suspension mode or height does not factor in, are there active engine mounts or other components that are enabled in Sport Plus? Perhaps exhaust flaps?

The dealer looked at it and claimed they solved it by cleaning out debris, but I immediately heard it upon pickup. Thanks!
