My new 971

After months of shopping, daily scours of CarGurus, AutoTrader etc. looking for the perfect trim and price/mileage combo, I got tired of the analysis paralysis and pulled the trigger on something lol. I originally wanted a chalk 4S with black interior but options were super slim. So I may wrap this one later but for now I’m loving the black on black. First time Porsche owner and as you can imagine, I’m in love lol

Aftermarket Warranties

I was looking to get a 2011 panamera turbo with 100k miles. It has a good car fax and has had all of the problematic issues/defective parts replaced.

Is there any good warranties I can look for to get a quote on? Or from experience is there any that have good coverage but maybe cost more?

I’m new to this scene and just looking for any advice or input! Thank you in advance

Panamera mods

Hi everyone!

I’ve had my 2019 Panamera for over a year now and I’m thinking about doing some performance modifications and I wanted to see what others have done as a sort of inspiration. This car isn’t my daily driver so I don’t mind having fun with it and customizing.

I do want an exhaust and have been looking at Valvetronic or Akrapovic.

What modifications has everyone else done and what do you recommend?

Engine power error

Hello, all. I’m a first-time/long-time here. Love the community. I’ve had this 2014 Panamera S about a month now and today on my way home, I got this error after having driven about 2-3 miles. It is the second time that I’ve gotten it in about three weeks. Has anyone experienced this before? It seems completely random to me. I was not driving hard at all — maybe 45 miles an hour when the error kicked in. On both occasions the engine power was noticeably reduced after the error came on, obv. Can someone shed some light on the situation and perhaps point me to a proper fix?

Thinking of buying written-off Panamera S Hybrid 2013

Hello,

I'm considering to buy this written-off, but fixed Panamera S Hybrid 2013. It has 146000km on it. Was crashed in 2023 in USA, written off in 2024 and fixed in 2025 in EU. Seller is giving me sweet price, so thats one of the biggest reasons I'm still considering it.

Seller says that there are no electrical issues, nor engine issues. Hybrid system works, but if you put it fully in electrical mode range is something 5-15km. It has some minor exterior damage (some dots on doors, bumpers). Some interior damage (roof cloth falling off on backside, some scratches on seats).

I have full car history reports from 2 sites and mileage tracks, as everything else the seller has told me.

Is there anything else that I should be worried about, besides damage after the crash and how it was fixed? With that mileage - some other parts have to be already worn out - what could those be and how expensive it is to fix them? What can anyone here tell me about this hybrid system (it's not plug-in hybrid)?

To CPO or not to CPO...

Ok, there are 2 2018's I'm seriously considering. Which would you buy and why?

Considering I drive barely 4K miles/year....s CPO worth $12K and going down from 4S to 4?

  • 2018 4S - $33K, used car dealership, 94K miles, well optioned. Has good Carfax records, even had 2 front struts replaced 2 yrs ago, rear brakes serviced last year
  • 2018 4 - $45K, Porsche dealer, CPO, 59K miles, almost as well optioned

27 Panamera 4S EH - Sport Design Package - Matte or Gloss Black?

Getting the Sport Design Package on a brand new 4S E-Hybrid, specifically to minimize the amount of plastic on the bottom read bumper.

I typically prefer matte trims but I'm not sure it'll look great on a PTS Dark Blue Metallic - thinking shine on shine might be nicer. The rest of the car trim and badging is in high gloss black (wheels are 911 Turbo).

What do you guys think?

Are ventilated seats, 4-zone climate and rear window shades that useful?

I'm currently searching for a 2018+ 971 and I seem to be stuck on these 3 options as a requirement. My current Mercedes doesn't have these options except for the rear window shade. I always wanted rear side window shades though.

Do you all use these options and/or find them useful?

Any other wood steering wheel enjoyers?

Coming up on year 7 with my 2018 panamera (971), and the steering wheel is easily one of my favorite features. I purchased the car used with ~5k miles on it after falling in love with the spec, and after years of ownership, I think wood is a must-include for me moving forward. Anyone else a fan?

Can I afford Panamera repairs?

I previously owned an Audi S7, and while repairs weren’t cheap, it wasn’t what everyone would always comment when I owned it.
In fact I’m looking at buying another after selling my previous one, so it’s not a major deterrent.
How do repairs on a 2016-2020 Panamera compact to an A7? Is it comparable? These keep popping up on my car searches and I do really love the styling and utility.

Panamera GTS vs 4s E-Hybrid

Hi everyone,

I have been contemplating the purchase of a Porsche Panamera for a while and facing a dilemma.

Context

  • 40-y old, married, 2 children (2y and 6y old) respectively
  • Auto enthousiast looking for replacing a BMW x3 m40i 2019 with something nice to drive, convenient and and comfy
  • Driving: doing ~80km on highway 3 days / week to go to work (40km one-way) as well as regular family trips over the weekend and for holidays - Total drive distance of ~20.000km / year
  • Possibility to plug-in the car easily at home as well as in the office
  • Living in Switzerland so nice roads around

Target Vehicle

  • I'm looking for a Panamera either GTS or 4s E-Hybrid
  • Not new (to reduce depreciation hit) but recent, typically 2025-2026 with ~30.000km maximum
  • Budget ~120-140kCHF looking at market for recent vehicles in France, Switzerland and Germany to match as close as possible my target specs (color, equipments, etc...)

Dilemma

  • When looking at used vehicle market, I can find interesting 4s-E-Hybrid cars for ~120kCHF with ~20.000km to ~40.000km => this means the car will be ~120-140.000 km when I will contemplate re-sale after 5years ownership, so quite close to the battery warranty limit (which is 8y / 160.000km) => resale value will be limited to ~60-70kCHF at max most likely so 50kCHF in depreciation over 5 years
  • When looking at GTS models, it tends to be slightly more costly in the acquisition, typically more ~130-140kCHF with model at ~20.000km however, I predict that the vehicle after 5 years so ~120.000km will not have same issue in terms of depreciation and could still trade ~80-85kCHF.
  • In the end, the total cost of ownership of both model are relatively close with the lower depreciation hit on the GTS compensating the higher costs of fuel & tax

My questions

  • Do you think the GTS can be an option as a daily daddy driver? Is it comfy enough ? Is it ok to to drive it in "mix environment" meaning also a bit of city centers etc... ? Any feedback on the noise in normal mode in Autobahn? I'm sure that the GTS quality of drive will be fantastic but I'm don't know about the comfort level when driving in normal mode with the whole family
  • Would you still enjoy the 4s e-hybrid in my situation, silence and comfort across the board with still fun-to-drive when switching to sport / sport+ mode?
  • Even though the total cost is the same, the 4s-e-hybrid seems the most "reasonnable" choice while the GTS would be the most "passionated choice" ?
  • How would you approach this ? Any hint to help me decide between the two options ?

High mileage 971 hybrid anyone?

Hi, just wondering if anyone is running a high mileage panamera hybrid (971), or knows anyone who is.

If it's well maintained, what issues come after 100,000 miles (160,000 km).

In UK, a pretty well spec'd 971 is about £25k - £30k with 100,000 miles. Wondering what kind of 'pot' would need to be aside for repairs since it's would be out of any Porsche warranty requirements.

Tuning a 2024 2.9TT

I have a 2024 976 with the 2.9TT. I'm considering a GIAC tune, done at Champion Motorsport. Its an auxililary company to Champion Motors, a Porsche dealer in South Florida where I bought the car. The tune adds about 65-70hp and 110tq which should be meaningful. The car presently feels good to me but the extra power wouldn't hurt.

Does anyone have a GIAC tune for the 2.9TT? I'm curious to hear any feedback, thanks!

I'm also curious to hear thoughts about the warranty coverage. I am concerned about that. I know that plainly, a tune detected by PCNA will most likely void the powertrain warranty. I am not concerned about the tune causing any issues, as I have had every car I've owned tuned, but if x part happens to break and its considered part of the powertrain, will that be an issue with a tuned car? The guys at Champion tell me that its not an issue but they don't issue the warranty. Should I not worry and go for it? On my last Porsche I had a piggyback which dosent officially flash anything so I was slightly less worried.
