Working on a comic book. I have seen a lot of great work in this sub that is full color. I have never enjoyed working in color, so when I first got my iPad, my first though was to work in a pen and ink style. I really love shading with digital pencil though as the basis for this comic. Mixing vector and pixel layers as necessary, with some imported 3D elements and manipulated photos for backgrounds at times.
Think this black and white style is viable? It seems rare, but I enjoy it a lot.
This post shows the beginning and the end of a battle sequence. There are actually about 20 pages in between these two, but I really wanted to see the end scene so I drew it before the rest of the battle.
Most comics don't draw blood as stipple, and I don't recall ever seeing a pancreas or a greater omentum as part of a disembowelment. Also, I don't recall seeing someone being killed by bread that was thrown like a football.
These are two different orcs by the way, the first and the last to die in the battle. That is why they have two different builds.
