Sail 250 Maryland brings $114.5 million to Baltimore

Looks like this was quite a success for Baltimore!
“Sail 250 Maryland and Air Show Baltimore drew over 600,000 visitors to Baltimore in June, generating $114.5 million in economic impact, according to a report released by the Living Classrooms Foundation.

In June, Dan Taylor, president of the Waterfront Partnership of Baltimore, said the city expected 200,000 to 250,000 people to attend the event.”

Sisson Street Trash Transfer facility could close in three years if certain conditions are met, report says

After DPW’s Reedbird site is renovated and other conditions are achieved, Baltimore’s most popular trash and recycling facility – on property coveted by a developer – can be shut down, mayoral group says”

And this is the unfortunate outcome for NIMBYs. Same taxes, fewer services, and one less project for the city to have to coordinate.
