Hey everyone. I’m 34M and I had my first attack this morning at 4am. Woke me up out of a dead sleep and at first I thought it was some kind of indigestion from the burrito I ate the evening prior. Well the pain grew and the antacids were not working so off to the ER I went. After literally 4 hours I was finally taken back to get an ultrasound. After hour 2 however, the pain had already gone away. The ER doctor confirmed I must have had a gallbladder attack and said he saw lots of gallstones, 6-7. Now he says I need to set up with my primary care doctor and get a general surgeon to remove it. He says for the next 5 days I should stick to a liquid only diet with liquid specifically translucent. This to me sounds absolutely brutal but he says only then I can slowly ramp up to bland foods and possible other foods again. I asked him if there was an option to avoid the surgery and he advised against it but said it’s possible saying he has seen elder people have stones they lived with for decades.

-Gallstones

-No gallbladder wall thickening.

-No significant pericholecystic fluid.

-Negative sonographic Murphy's sign.

Overall what do you all think I should do?
