A funny convo I've had with Pro Aborts.
Every time a pro-abort makes the "fetus is not a human, clump of cells, etc" argument, I give them the placenta question.
Are you ok with people eating fetuses? Do you have any moral objection to it?
If they object to it, I ask them what's the difference between eating a fetus and the practice of human placentophagy? It's used in Chinese medicines and numerous mainstream celebrities and youtubers have promoted eating their own placentas or their spouse's or someone else's placenta (consensually of course), and after all... a fetus and a placenta are just both "clumps of cells" are they not? So far I've only recieved two types of responses to this follow up question.
Refusal to engage with the hypothetical. They either ghosted me or claimed the question was stupid cuz it would never happen irl. You can leave a final remark explaining how the hypothetical is meant to test principles, not make predictions about reality. Think of it like a physics thought experiment. No one thinks a frictionless vacuum sphere exists, but it helps test the laws. I’m using a hypothetical the same way... to isolate your principles and see how consistent it is.
"I think ALL consumption of human flesh is immoral. People should NOT be eating placentas OR fetuses". If you receive this response, you can ask them why they are trying to restrict women's bodily autonomy. It's her placenta, Its her body, It's her CHOICE. They've yet to respond to this one unfortunately.
If they say "YES, it's morally permissable to eat a fetus", its probably safe to assume they are being disingeniously smug or are genuinely deranged. In which you could escalate the depravity and see how far they are willing to degrade their character to "stay consistent".
Ask them: "Are you ok with pedophiles using fetuses as sex dolls"? If you've seen the Trent Horn vs Destiny Abortion debate, you'd know the unfortunate answer. Destiny essentially claims: Brainless Human child sex dolls and Ai Child Porn is morally permissable as long as it lowers the amount of "real children" being harmed. Which is still disturbing. And much like Destiny, I've recieved a response that went: "Do what you want to do with your own body"... The Pro-Abort refused to condemn fetal sex dolls for the purposes of staying logically consistent.
