WAN Issue - ISP Package 2500Mbps / Unifi Speedtest max out around 800Mbps

Hi,

I am really stumped by an ISP connectivity issue.
I pay for a 2500Mbps Up / 2500Mbps Down internet package (UK Provider)

There is a fibre line to the premises, going into a Nokia ONT (capable of 10Gbps).
This ONT was just installed today as a troubleshooting method as my old ONT capped out at 2.5Gb.

The ONT is connected via a CAT 8 cable to a Unifi Dream Router 7 (WAN Port).

When I run speed tests on the Unifi OS, the tests usually peak at around 800Mbps and I cannot get anywhere close to what my ISP should be providing.

The provider of the line has done what they can, such as installing a new ONT and my ISP says the profile on my account is correct.

They are pointing to the Unifi Router being the issue but I cannot see how that could be.

I have tried turning off CyberSecure, IPS, AD Block etc.

I have messed about with MTU / MMS Casting as well as hardware acceleration, frame control etc.

None of the suggested tweaks work.

I have also tried to use a laptop directly into the ONT but could not work out how to get the connection setup.

This is a PPPoE connection and I have to use VLAN ID 911 to dial into my ISP.

I applied these on my Laptop and setup a Dial Up profile using my ISP login details.

It shows connected but I cannot get online, even with DNS manually set to 1.1.1.1 or 8.8.8.8

Any other ideas on this please?

Download / Upload speed expectations [IDNet]

Hi,
I am currently with IDNet on their Home Fibre 2300 (FTTH 2500/2500) package.

I am trying to understand what I should be expecting in terms of connectivity speeds on a day to day basis?

I can see from their portal they have the following information:
Guaranteed Download Speed: 900 Mbit/s
Typical Download Speed:1700-2200 Mbit/s

However on average I get around 500-700Mbps on a speed test. These tests are done on my Unifi Router, so there’s not much interference between the ONT and Router.
At most my DNS passes through a Pi-Hole DNS filter but even with that disabled the tests have similar results.

Is it worth taking this up with their support team or am I just wasting time, what more could IDNet / CityFibre do to see if the connection speeds can be improved?

I’ve tried restarting the ONT and Router from my side but not seen any change.
