Lufthansa cancelled my flight and rebooked me on layover airport onwards only

I'm in a bit of a pinch here: Lufthansa cancelled my Manchester - Frankfurt - Vienna flight and rebooked me onto a Frankfurt - Vienna flight with the comment in the email saying that "I need to find a way to travel to Frankfurt myself". What would be the best thing to do in this situation??? Find a one-way flight Manchester - Frankfurt (I'll be carry-on only anyways) OR request a full refund for both ways and book the similar priced similar time Air France flight instead. Any advice is appreciated
