Ryanair doesn't want to reimburse costs related to flight that landed in wrong airport

I flew from Warsaw to Rome Ciampino last week. The flight landed at 20:30 at a different airport (Rome Fiumicino instead of Ciampino). I had a rental car booked at Ciampino, and the rental office was closing at 22:00. Following the instructions of the Ryanair representative at the airport, after collecting my luggage, I took a taxi in order to arrive on time.

Today I submitted a request for reimbursement of the taxi costs (€70), but my request was rejected (“We're sorry, but the expenses you have requested were either incurred before you were notified of the disruption or after you had already reached your destination. We cannot cover these costs, as they are not a direct consequence of the disrupted flight.”)

They should pay me back. Any idea how to get my money back?

My connecting flight got delayed and I got delayed by 24 hours, and I got this email. Worth filing a claim through them?

I had a booking.com reservation from Barcelona - Stockholm - Reykjavik - back to US flight, but my second flight got delayed due to some random reason (they never specified), so I had to miss work, had to pay extra for my dog sitter, and other emotional distress (SAS airline paid for hotel and a dinner).

Am I eligible for this claim? Should I do it through them, or by myself? Thanks!

Does this mean 2 bags of 23kg combined total, or 2 bags of 23kg each? (Thai Airways)

Relocating from UK to Australia, so need as much baggage as possible to transport my entire life over! Not sure what the meaning of this checked baggage allowance is and I can't find any Thai Airways support.

Thanks!

I am stuck with a cancelled Lufthansa flight from strikes, how to get refund or re-book? Anyone here got money back quick from Lufthansa or switched airlines easily and what first steps are required to be taken?

My flight on Lufthansa got cancelled out of nowhere because of these ongoing strikes across Europe. I was flying into Munich and now I'm staring at a nonrefundable ticket unless EU rules kick in. I've seen posts about compensation but not sure if it applies here. I've already sunk money into the hotel and don't want to lose more. I also called customer service twice but no answer.

Turkish Airlines hidden city / skiplagging to Istanbul: Will they really cancel my return flight?

Hi everyone,
I bought a cheap Turkish Airlines ticket from Mexico City (MEX) to Rome (FCO) with a long layover in Istanbul, and return from Milan (MXP). The plan is to stay in Istanbul and skip the flight to Rome (and obviously not go to Milan for the return).
I’m traveling with my girlfriend, only carry-on luggage. I already spoke with an agent and the policy is very clear: if you no-show on any segment, they automatically cancel all remaining segments (including the return).
Questions:
• Has anyone done this recently with Turkish Airlines (2025-2026)? Did they cancel your return ticket or did it go through?
• Does calling in advance to tell them we won’t take the IST-FCO flight help, or is it better to say nothing?
• Is there any way they can be flexible, or do they always cancel automatically?
I know it’s against the rules (hidden city ticketing), but it was much cheaper and it’s already paid. Looking for real recent experiences, especially with round-trip tickets and two passengers.
Thanks!

Payment issue with Saudi Airlines

It has been 5 days of nonstop issues and absolutely no real help from customer support.

Every single payment method fails:
4 different credit cards (Visa + Mastercard)
PayPal
Apple Pay
Paying in CAD and USD
Different browsers
Different devices
Different internet/IP addresses

Nothing works. The payment either fails or gives random errors.

What makes this even more frustrating is that every customer service agent tells me something completely different:
One says phone sales can book tickets for the same online fare
Another says online fares have a 15% discount
Another says there is no discount at all
Another says phone sales cannot even book tickets unless you already have a reservation

I have submitted multiple support requests and callback requests. Nobody calls. I only get automated emails saying my case has been “updated” with no actual solution.
Meanwhile the fare for the flights I want keeps changing while I sit here unable to pay.

At this point I honestly just want to know:
Has this happened to anyone else?
Did you ever manage to fix it?
Is there any reliable way to actually book Saudi Airlines tickets?
I’m in Canada if that matters. Any help would seriously be appreciated because this has been unbelievably frustrating.

Is this a stupid idea? (Booking separate tickets)

Hi! I'm flying from Detroit to Oslo in August, but if I book DTW to OSL, I'd have to do an international layover in Paris (at CDG, my least favorite airport!). If I book separate flights, I can fly from DTW to New York (JFK), and then JFK directly to OSL. Basically, I'd feel much less stressed just taking my layover domestically. This is the flight info:

DTW to JFK 6 AM - 7:45 AM

JFK to OSL 5:10 PM - 6:45 AM

The nine-hour layover time feels like more than enough time, but IS IT?!! I've experienced lots of delays with flights in the past couple of years, so I'm trying to gauge opinions. I'm also good just booking with the CDG layover and toughing it out, even though that airport confuses me. (I have anxiety, so please be nice to me in your responses LOL) Thank you in advance!

Is making this flight ever possible even with no delays?

The boarding gate for an international flight closes around 20 minutes or so before departure. That would mean you have only 17 mins to make the connection.

I'm genuinely curious, is it ever possible to make this connection unless the first flight arrives very early? Even then you have to pray that your first flight taxis and finds a gate to park at asap.

Saudi visa on arrival

Has anyone recently traveled to Saudi from the US with Gulf Air using Visa on Arrival as a US Green Card holder (Pakistani passport)?

My Saudi e-visa was rejected, but according to Visit Saudi I’m still eligible for VOA because I have a valid US Green Card.

I’m mainly worried about boarding from the US did Gulf Air staff give anyone a problem for not having a pre-approved visa? Were you able to board and then get the visa successfully in Riyadh?

Would really appreciate recent experiences or tips 😭

Trying to book multicity SFO > EDI then LHR > SFO - Is this a good price/worth it?

We are planning our honeymoon for Sept 13-24, flying from SFO > EDI, then LHR > SFO, right now for two in economy. It's like $2,300 with Delta and $2,500 with travel insurance.

Is this a good price for a flight like this? I have never traveled internationally before.

Is Delta worth it? Or do I try to book with a different airline that could be cheaper? I am worried about the comfort and trying to book with a US airline in case the world ends, and we can't go, and I need to use the credit later.

Should I bite the bullet and pay it now before it keeps rising, or keep waiting?

2h in Malé, Maldives enough to re-check in?

Hi all,

I'm planning on flying through Malé in February for a scuba trip to Fuvahmulah.

On the way back, there is a domestic flight Fuvahmulah to Malé 17:05-19:00, and I have my international flight with Qatar leaving at 21:05.

Will 2 hours be enough time to exit security, collect my luggage (including a large gear bag), check back in, check luggage, and make it to my flight? Is there a high chance the local flight will be delayed?

Thank you!

Edit to add: US passport, date of flight is Feb 21st 2027

I booked a flight wayyy too early. Can I just miss it and go on a later one?

I booked a flight through Priceline (last time I’ll be doing that) and the flight they booked me for leaves at 6am. The flight I’m on is with United. The person I’m supposed to be landing to see won’t be available until 5pm and I really don’t want to kill 9 hours in ohare airport. The ticket is nonrefundable and non changeable. Can I just miss my flight and show up asking to be put on the next flight and say I had a flat tire? I’ve read that they’ll cancel my return flight if I don’t show up for the first one so I wanted to know more before!

Specifically what bad things will happen when booking with an OTA?

I've seen A LOT of people saying never book flights with an OTA, only ever book directly with the airline. Which I get. But I'm just wondering what SPECIFICALLY is the issue? Every time my flight has gotten cancelled or delayed in the past, the airline has re-booked my flight without having to ask, and given free accommodation for the night if necessary. Will this still be the case when booking through an OTA? Is it only actually an issue if I have to cancel or reschedule the flight of my own will? Because the chances of me changing my own flight are much lower than the chances of my flight getting cancelled or delayed so I wouldn't be too worried in that case. Also, the price difference here is at least $800 USD just FYI so it seems insane to pay that much more for the small chance that something will go wrong. Also, if I was going to book with an OTA, is there one that's the least bad? Maybe Expedia, Priceline, or Trip com?

Any input would be great, thanks!

I booked a flight from LHR to MEL with an hour 15 minute stopover in AUH. Iexpected the airline would allow enough time to transfer but I needed to run to my next plane - is this normal?

I booked with the airline directly and selected flights from London Heathrow to Melbourne, Australia. The stop over was 1hr 15m in Abu Dhabi and I figured that since the airline was suggesting this stopover it would be enough time to transfer to the next flight but I ended up running for my next flight.

The flight was delayed by 30m but seemed to make up that time. I was a little bit worried so I checked my boarding pass on my phone and it said the boarding time was 1:10am and yet we were arriving at 1:15am. I asked the flight attendant if I need to worry about my connecting flight and she said she isn't sure due to the flight arriving after the boarding starts. It took a long time for the plane to deboard and once I'd finally made it to the transfers area there was a massive line for security. Thankfully it moved fairly quickly. When I was finished with security I heard the PA say last call for my flight so I RAN.

Exactly the same thing happened on the way back. I heard a couple asking the flight attendant who reassured them that the connecting flight would wait for them but I also overheard conversations from other passengers saying they had missed their flights as they weren't able to make it to the next flight in time and had to wait for the next flight.

I've spoken to other people who have booked similar flights with other airlines and they have had a slightly longer stopover or just not had this issue. My question for more experienced travellers, is this normal? And what can I do to decrease the chances of this happening again. This experience has completely put me off every flying with the airline again.

Best Layover for Norfolk (ORF) - Austin (AUS) Roundtrip?

I am looking at this flight path and am once again disappointed by ORF not having more routes, but anyway, I don't have much experience with many of the possible connecting airports. I know ATL is good and have been there before, are there any airports in particular I should be avoiding? I also know MCO very well but that's definitely a bit more out of the way. I mainly care about keeping the cost down and the layover not heing outrageously short/long. If the airports are at least decent, that's fine.

Aiming for the days around June 19th also, if that is relevant. Probably a pretty busy time and maybe a bit late, sadly I only just learned I'd be flying. At worst I'll use the recommended layover at a later date instead.

Cheapflightsfares reviews? Price changed during booking, normal OTA issue or something to worry about?

So, I’m going to southeast asia this summer, and as we all know, flight prices are crazy rn! I found a really good deal on this third party site called CheapFlightsFares. I’ve never used them before, but have used other third party otas, and normally just go with whatever has the best deal.
Well, when I was about to pay for my flight to Thailand, I noticed the price had changed by about $18 from when I first started the checkout process. This has me wondering if this site is a scam…
Has anyone used them before and had this happen? Is this normal fare refresh/inventory syncing or something I should be concerned about? Everything else looks normal, the site seems fine and the flights are a great price so I’m hoping it’s nothing and I’m just overthinking it.

EU261 advice

Need some opinions regarding a possible EU261 claim against Lufthansa, because this entire situation has been extremely chaotic.

My original itinerary was:
SVG → FRA → SIN. Booking done through Lufthansa’s website.

I only discovered that my SVG → Frankfurt flight had been cancelled because I called Lufthansa myself to ask what had happened after noticing the flight had disappeared from the app. I never received any SMS, email or phone notification about the cancellation itself.

Over the following days, Lufthansa put me through several different reroutings. The final rerouting before departure was onto KLM, and I have proof/screenshots showing the KLM itinerary as confirmed and on time in both apps/systems for days before departure.

Today, I still could not check in online, so I called Lufthansa multiple times to ask what was happening and requested that they place the booking into an emergency ticketing queue so I could still make the flight.

Lufthansa initially told me that they would emergency ticket the KLM routing and that I was good to go to the airport. Then 1,5hour later, they suddenly changed position and told me that the KLM routing would not work and that they instead had to place me onto partner airlines. No actual reason for why the KLM ticketing failed was given to me.

I then called KLM myself, and KLM told me there was nothing blocking the itinerary on their side and that the issue appeared to be within Lufthansa’s own ticketing system.

The final rerouting became:
SVG → BGO → MUC → SIN

As a result, I am now arriving approximately 24 hours later than my original scheduled arrival in Singapore.

Does this sound like a strong EU261 case to you guys, even though «cancellation» of my original flight happend over 2 weeks ago?
