Hello everyone,

Years ago (back in the early 2000s), I received my technician license. However, when it came time for renewal, I was undergoing big life changes (coming out of homelessness and getting back into the workforce) and due to these circumstances, I never renewed my license and it expired back in 2011.

I'm scheduled for an exam on June 6th, but my question is that when I went to the FCC's site to get my FRN it stated something to the effect that it recognized my SSN and prompted me to either select the account I previously had or get a new FRN. I opted for the new FRN since the old one was tied to an expired license. Did I make the right decision or should I have opted for the older record that they have me on file for?

I just want to make sure that I have the right documentation and FRN when I go to take the exam.
