Need advice for how to repair dinged/scratched table

I bought a nice table yesterday and scratched and dinged it up on the way home. I am pretty upset with my stupid mistake. Looking for advice on how to fix/repair this. I have next to zero experience with repairing wood. Any advice is greatly appreciated. If this is not the right sub for this please point me in the right direction and I don’t know who to ask.

The scratches seem pretty surface level and are not deep at all. The corner seems like a much bigger task. I am open to learner and getting the required equipment, thank you in advance!

I have limited experience with rewriting but I understand the basics. I was asked to put in this new receiver (1&2) for a ceiling fan. It seemed easy enough so I thought I’d give it a try. When I opened the fan up the old existing receiver was wired differently (3&4) and threw me off guard.

How would I go about connecting the new one to the existing wiring of the fan? Is there a way to do it or is the best course of action to get a new receiver kit with the appropriate wiring?

To clarify the fan had the same number and color wiring as the existing receiver. Also they were connected with those white rectangle things and not the wire nuts, why is that?

EDIT: Spelling
