Been working on my comping a today, wondering what you think i should improve! Id like to add more crosspicking, but i feel i kind of choke up 50% of the time when i try, any good practice tips or video lessons for this?
I joined a workshop with a very good guitarist about a month ago and he told us that if you learn one fiddle tune a week for a year you should have a very good foundation for solos. Ive been doing that every week since then and Im wondering if he actually meant just to learn the whole tune by ear or study every individual phrase and apply it in my vocabulary. I guess its only been a month so i cant really tell, but the only thing i feel has improved is my technique and not vocabulary.
What do you think?
Been working on this one this week and its a finger twister for sure, cant work up the courage to learn the other variations in the rest of the song haha… couple mistakes here and there, but doing 50 takes is cheating imo.
My fiddle tune of the week. The B section really helps relax my wrist, this tune is kind more tricky than it sounds i think.
Ive been playing slide since april. To get better at playing resonator, I’ve decided to learn a break on both guitar and resonator every week, preferably the same tune. Heres an attempt at something that sounds like Jerrys break on Red Haired Boy (California Autumn)
Tried some of the things you guys commented, still a little sloppy with the muting at times when playing closer to the sound hole, but it sounds alright i think.

Anyone know how Jerry/Mike plays those heavenly high pitched slides? Harmonics/high up on the neck with lots of reverb or studio magic? Sounds almost like pedal steel at times.
I keep starting out strong, but my fingers seem to curl up after a while, any tips? Or just more practice? (Sorry for loud ass metronome lol)

Hey ive been thinking that my porn addiction has been giving me obsessive compulsive thoughts or vise versa. My new therapist recently rejected me because she said i have no motivation in my life to be able to go through with the therapy.
I have tried so many forms of help and everything/everyone rejects me. What should i even do?
