Hey there! I'm heading to Brazil this Summer and I'm hoping to do some volunteering (through worldpackers, workaway or similar) whilst I'm there. Does anyone have any specific recommendations of experiences that they liked? Or just general recommendations for placed to go to? I'm not sure exacrly which parts of Brazil I'll travel to, but I have about 3 months and I'm flying into Sao Paulo.
Thanks :)

I'm very new to this and travelling in general, but I am simultaneously looking forward to it!
Do any experienced folks have any advice for me? I've seen a few posts on here where people have been scammed, and would prefer to be as safe as possible.
Thank you!

Hey,
I'm an international student hoping to enroll at ufmg for a year starting in the second semester. I'm currently in the process of completing my study plan to get it approved by ufmg. I am intending to take modules from the "Minor in International studies course" but I am aware that this is not an official course. Therefore I need to put something else down in the "desired course" section of my study plan. Does anyone have experience with this or know what department will accept me?
Thanks for any responses 😄

Has anyone got any experience doing this? I know its a fairly popular thing to do and I'm considering doing it myself to lower travel costs.
I've done some volunteer travel before, but on farms and animal shelters not in hostels. I feel like hostel volunteering will feel a lot more like actual work, and the hosts are more likely to be less friendly as they only see you as a source of labour. Any advice or stories from people who have experience with this would be very appreciated. I have enjoyed all my volunteer experiences so far, and met lots of nice people and really got along with my hosts, but I'm uncertain if the vibe would be a bit different at a hostel.
Thanks
Has anyone had any experience of successfully finding an international volunteering experience through facebook communties?
There are several communities that appear to be dedicated to connecting hosts to volunteers. Obviously this is essentially the same thing that platforms such as worldpackers and workaway do, it just doesnt have any insurance, background checks or reviews.
Basically my question is whether this has worked for anyone and if it is a viable, free alternative to worldpackers/workaway?
Hey everyone!
I've been using Worldpackers to do volunteer exchange programs for a couple of years now. I was just wondering if people had used other platforms eg. Workaway and Wwoof and how these compare to Worldpackers. Is one platform "better" than the rest or do they all essentially do the same thing?
