I always enjoyed the older movies where acting carried the movie not special effects. At the time I was on a Cary Grant phase which led me to Tony Curtis. They both gave a great performance in this movie. Plus, it was one of my Father's favorite movies...

Especially when they hover overhead afterwards and tell the entire neighborhood that you need something bigger.

... In my head for decades. It wasn't the story, it wasn't the special effects or the bots. What made it stick was the geo-domes on the space ship.

I saw this movie back in the early 80's, on television, on a Saturday afternoon. I was flying past the channel looking for something else when I saw the ships. I tried to watch but got called away but it stuck...

With a permission slip and a dark classroom. Olivia Hussey was the reason long dark hair, petite body type and accents became a thing for me...

I used to set the plane to hit the barn because I loved the sound it made. After about two minutes Mom made me play the game to get it over with.
