Is this a cavity?

Tooth #7 was shaved down and is mainly a composite now that’s why it’s short (it’s not showing here since I believe they used the composite that doesn’t have the radiopaque element yet when they placed it) - I have a bit of recession because of braces as well.

This tooth has been bothering me so much, I’m starting to see brown spots inside my gum on my tooth and it is incredibly sensitive to cold air/water. And I mentioned this before to my dentist but they brushed it off and said it’s just a stain though it’s starting to look like a decay to me. I’m curious because there’s a huge triangle in that area and the composite has been 7 years now. I see minimal plaque on the mesial side but I’m wondering if that dark part is cavity?

I’m not sure if it’s just the office I’ve worked at before, but I’ve noticed how snarky some dentists get towards hygienist.

Maybe it’s because they built more one to one relationship with dental assistants because of the chair side experience that they favor them more. Maybe it’s because hygienist went through rigorous training through schools that dentists have higher expectations on them. Maybe it’s because they are paying them higher than the rest of the other teams. All of these makes sense, but man does it make me worry sometimes especially as a future hygienist.

I have a horrible habit of being a “walking doormat” (many have mentioned this to me too) that it’s easy to take advantage of me yet I’m unable to speak up. This situation makes me a little nervous.
Absolutely I will try my best and learn if I’m making mistakes, etc… but how do you guys handle mistreatments as a hygienist? (maybe more harsher experiences than the example I gave)

In any office there is always a struggle that we’ll experience but I wonder how much would you guys personally put up with in an office to stay or leave usually?

▲ 7 r/ipad

Hello everyone!!

I am about to start my Dental Hygiene program and was wondering what iPad I should go for?

I currently have the iPad gen 7 which I’ve been using for years and loved! However, it is pretty outdated and no longer has enough storage nor function that I currently need. I draw quite a lot, majority of the storage was lost due to my drawings in procreate. I also used my iPad for note taking, I tend to download slideshows and take notes on it directly. I also will be needing to download lots of textbooks for my classes which I plan to directly take notes on too (my note taking style ended up making me lose storage so much lol)

Im not too fond of Apple products since all of mine are all second handed, so I thought to ask here 😊

I am looking for a bigger screen (I was interested in the 13 inch or 11 inch- just as a reference point), long battery usage, reduced heat, but mainly one that can handle what I mentioned above ^

I was looking at A16 because it is budget friendly and I don’t necessarily want to jump the gun, however I heard M3 chips are a lot stronger which seems like a good investment in the long run. Regardless of whether I am convinced to buy one or the other, I do plan on buying it through the refurbished option to save on cost.

Should I buy A16 first to save on money and then trade it in for M3 in the future?

Please let me know your thoughts or if you guys have other iPad suggestions!

Thank you!
