What happens between 10 years married and 20 years married?

Hello! We just had our 10th anniversary, which was a very happy and celebratory occasion. We’ve had a hard 10 years, both together and just the world handing us shit pie after shit pie. However, the past 1.5 years or so we’ve really been hitting a stride and I think we feel the best we ever have together. It’s almost like circling back around to the honeymoon stage feelings, but with deep history and knowledge of one another….it feels really special. These 10 years the theme has felt like learning and GROWTH. We are still in the little kid phase, but just had a new baby at ages 39 and 43 (we also have an 8 and 5 yo), so life is hectic but very sweet.

Anyway - I’m wondering, what happens during this next decade? For those at 20+ years, how does your marriage feel different at 20 years than it did at year 10? 10 feels like a lot and it’s hard to imagine what more growth feels like, you know? Does it plateau at some point and just feel “the same” for a while? Not saying that would be bad, we would welcome predictability. But does that start to feel like a rut at times? I just can’t imagine it…I’m curious though!

Thank you for your wisdom!! 🙏
