Viral illness with bacterial sinus infection, what more can I do?
My daughter is 20 y.o. 5'7" 178 lbs. With a probable viral URI for 3 weeks that had progressed to a more severe sore throat and new "wet" cough. A low-grade fever (100.7 degrees) on Saturday prompted a first visit to urgent care. Pulse Ox 96%
Strep swab negative.
Diagnosed with a bacterial sinus infection and started on Augmentin and predisone 20 mg bid.
Today is day 3 of treatment with no improvement.
She says that on day 1, her roomate saw puss on her tonsils, although the picture isn't clear. Is there anything else she should be doing?
