My first ever pizza vs my latest

These were within a few months of each other. My latest is like 12.5 inches. Trying to go for a New York style so I plan on making bigger pies. (Last picture is my first)

Spreading tomato sauce

Hello, I started a little over month ago. I would like to say I’ve gotten extremely good at both dough and toppings. One struggle I have through is spreading the tomato sauce. Whenever I do it’s either uneven leading to patches, or my biggest pet peeve is when the dough pulls back when ever I am spreading sauce. I am wondering if anyone has tips I can use to improve in this aspect of my work.
