Split-pay legality

I have made a past post about wage theft and it seems numerous people seem to be mentioning things on a small scale and not considering the long term consequences. Split pay in itself is faulty and 100 percent leads to wage theft of drivers, how is dominos still allowing it?. I will put in a basic example if a store is split 3 dollars for a driver on the road, that is 5 cents a minute in an hour difference. Let's say a driver accumulates at least 10 minutes of in store time split difference per day for a year that is 182 dollars stolen from a single driver. And thats just a bare minimum of 10 minutes accrued in store not on the road, i have seen a lot longer then that for drivers constantly from shady managers. Now lets also say this is happening to all drivers on a daily basis with that at least 10 minutes daily and lets say you have like 10 drivers that is 1820 stolen in a year. And this is a bare minimum 10 minutes im talking about accrued i have seen much worse. How is dominos allowing split pay?.

Hired on the spot

So, I went in for my interview today totally prepared to answer basic questions. I went up to the counter and told the guy that I had an interview, and he handed me a piece of paper to fill out. It was just basic information and my shirt size.

Anyways, after I handed it back to him, I was kind of waiting for the interview part, but he was just like, “Okay, we’ll email you your start date.” And I was like, “Wait, that’s it?” So yeah, I guess I was hired.

I’m just really confused because they didn’t discuss anything with me. I’m not sure what I’ll be doing (I applied for CSR, so I have some idea, but I would’ve liked confirmation about what I’ll actually have to do 😭). Can anyone give me tips for my first day and what training will look like? Also, what the heck do I wear on my first day? I literally got told nothing about dress code and such. (Like should I buy non-slip shoes??? 😭😭😭)

Also does anyone have a general idea of the time frame it’ll take to start working?

My store has a 140 pizza order tomorrow

Does anyone have tips or advice. I really don’t want tomorrow to be a shit show and the biggest order I’ve made previously is a 30 pie.
The order is for 4:45.

managers asked us to sign availability sheet for the school year

i put sat and sun off. then my manager tells me i can’t do that because the sheet was mainly meant for students. well, i’ll be starting school again this fall. my manager was nice about it but what’s the point of asking everyone their availability and saying “sorry you can’t do that”. i mean, hell, one of my other coworkers is going from full time to only FRIDAY availability. so why can’t i ? and why was it assumed that im not a student? lol

Employee question

What does a typical weeks worth of waste run in your store for food? I feel like ours is high this week but it’s also not really anything we can control. Our distribution center has been sending RTU dough since before boost week and I was given specific instructions not to touch dough quantities when ordering truck this past boost week….any insight?

I was just hired to be a delivery driver for Domino's and I'm curious...

...what are the best shifts to work for tips? And how much can I expect in terms of per/hour measurement? I have read that it's generally tye closing shifts on Fridays and Saturdays. I live in a big college town so I'm curious how much of a difference that makes. Any info would be appreciated.

Mandatory training.

Im honestly so tired of the "mandatory" training. Its always on days I close, starts at 10am, and ends at 3pm. Which means id be at the store starting around 9:30am, and id be going home at 1am. Gotta love a 15 hour shift. No breaks. And its just stupid ass videos I can watch at home at any time. Not to mention nobody in any of the manager chats even mentioned it until today, the day of.

Now they are telling me I have to drive to a different location (about an hour drive) on the other side of town to do it. I cant drive on the highway with my car right now, so wtf do I even do.

Like I barely make a dollar more than CSRs, this shit is not worth it for the amount of times i need to wake up Hella early for this bullshit company.

I like my job, but honestly it’s so stressful always trying to find something to do so you’re not standing around when there isn’t anything to do, i end up wiping down the lobby like 10 times each shift 😭

last friday i got to work, and i did the dishes, restocked the soda, wiped down/sweeped the lobby, refilled the boxes, sorted the screens, and i was taking orders between all this, and then after i did all that i took a in person order and then a phone order and then i was standing at the front counter for literally 5 seconds trying to think abt what to do next and my manager got mad and sent me home for not doing anything,

sigh.

Customer behavior

Am I the only one that is bothered by how customers act?

I don't mean the occasional nut job or the Karen's but the overwhelming crappy treatment of late. We have had a few suicides in the last year or two because of customer behavior and the staff is borderline afraid of answering the phone anymore due to how hateful the callers get. I normally can't even go a single shift at my home store without some sort of abuse that could be considered a hate crime in any other industry.

Is this happening anywhere else
