Man this Wednesday was crazy. I was at $50 in tips in less than 2 hours from 4pm to 6pm. With 4 more hrs to go. Ended the night with a tick over $100. That's crazy for a mid week not during the Thanksgiving Christmas season.
What's going on. I'm sitting over here at the corner of Broadway and Oliver. At least 7 ambulances have past me in 10 min.
So one day ages ago these decided to start scrolling non-stop while the headlights are on. Thing is the lights work. Just spoke to a shop I trust and have history with that specializes in German vehicles. Dude thinks the connectors are worn just enough to have the message but not enough to prevent the lights from working. But I did book the hub and oil pan replace reseal appointment.
Man what was that?! I don't know how anyone was out in that hot muggy nonsense. I stepped outside and that heat just drained any energy from me. No idea how those of you that have to work outside for a living do it. Had the AC in the car cranked all day for deliveries.
Just purchased some front hubs. After 230K they have a little play. Now if I can find a competent shop that doesn't charge almost $200 per hour. I'm surrounded by mom and pop shops but none will touch a VW and at least one that will I'll never go back to. And I don't have the tools, space or know how to do this.
Had a regular slip me this on the low low when no one else was looking. Grandpa was like "I know it's expensive out there."
Another booty cheeks Friday night. That's two in a row. Maybe 80 in tips combined. 🤦🏾♂️
Any other delivery driver have issues with people answering the door? Like you ordered food then act love no body knows anything about it when I show up. I've had people just stand there and look at me through the window or screen door. People run and hide. Or take forever when they live in a shoe box sized apartment. Even when it's "Please put in my hand" or "Meet at door." 🤦🏾♂️
Usually it's cause they can't face you dude to the no tip.
I was delivering over on Fountain today. I'd not been in there in years. Saw piles of trash in front of every pair of apartment buildings. This can't be right. The area looks a little to nice to have this.
Man today was booty cheeks. I made more on Wednesday and Thursday night than I did this Friday. Walked out with only $40 CC and $20 cash in tips. Almost everyone tipped but it was only a dollar here and two dollars there. Let's see how Saturday goes.
This right here. As a full time food delivery person. Put up some damn placards on the apartments. You have no idea which apartments are which side of the building. They are numbered odds on the bottom and evens on the top with zero reason or rhyme on which sides the numbers start on. So you end up walking around the entire building. 🤦🏾♂️
Today May 1st Teresa is all mine. Paid the bank my last payment. She was a work horse for those years driving for Lyft. Got me through a move and even was shelter a few times when I couldn't get a bed at the homeless shelter. Now a work horse again for my full time job. Now that money is freed up. Teresa will be getting some much needed care. Full suspension and steering components are in the future.
One thing after changing that 176K fuel filter. Is the fuel pump whine is now gone. Figured it would clear up once it wasn't straining so hard against a clogged filter.
Monday is funday (🤷🏾♂️). Gave Teresa's engine bay a scrubbing a bit to get her ready for maintenance. It was easier than the YouTube video made it out to be. And dang if it wasn't easier to find a liquid transfer tool that a turkey baster. Wiped out all the debris from the fuel chamber and it took about 10 accessory turns and 5 starts. But it's running.
Well my engine bay is sure not as clean as others on here who post. So we'll call ole girl Teresa (IYKYK). I will be attempting to change my fuel filter. Bought the car with 55K and now it has 231K on the same filter. DAMN 176K on 1 filter. And clean up under the bonnet a bit.
