I currently live in Yucatan and will be moving back to California later this year. I have a Yucatan-plated car that I’ll be driving back up through Mexico and into California.

I won’t be able to permanently import the car into the US, so I’ll need to sell it afterward. I’d strongly prefer not have to go into TJ once I’m in San Diego, so I’m wondering how practical it would be to sell a Mexican-plated car to someone living in Baja while physically in San Diego.

Has anyone done this successfully?

Would it realistically be better to do the transaction in TJ instead? If so, what’s the safest way to handle a cash sale in USD?

It's been a few years since I've been to PDC but I'll be in the area in July so planning to stop and stay for a few nights.

Two questions:

1. Which El Fogon location is best? I remember there being a few but wasn’t sure if one is still better than the others.
2. Anybody have an opinion in the Acanto Hotel? Looks like a great location, but curious how it actually is.
