Did any other stores have HR stop in asking if employees wanted to talk about how things are going with BTW?

So I put in my two weeks last week after finding another job. The same day I did that I also let my direct manger know that I would be willing to stay on part time (one day a week) or so. However today I was told by my store manager that stuff was already submitted and I would have to wait a year? Anybody have insight or have something like this happen? Seems a little crazy. Even though I got screwed I was still looking forward to working with some of my fellow teammates even if it was just once a week. Last full time day isn’t until August for reference.
