I (28m) have recently decided to rework my entire wardrobe and make an effort to dress better as most my life, I’ve been wearing graphic tees and shorts. I live in Hawaii so it’s hot and easy to get by with that.

I may have went overboard and spent over a $1000 on new clothes such as new jeans in different washes, pleated pants, chino shorts, and a bunch of different shirts such as OCBDs, long sleeve button up shirts, seersucker shirt, long sleeve linen, crew neck sweaters, zip up hoodie, zip up blouson jacket, and Harrington jacket.

I’m basically trying to buy pieces that will go with everything and are easily mix and match-able. What are some essential type of tops and shirts that you guys have to be stylish and that can match many outfits?

For context, I do like street wear style and a simple elevated casual look. Most of my clothes I buy are from Uniqlo.

I got white moisture wicking shirts from Costco to wear as an undershirt under button up tees or jackets but i couldn’t figure out if they looked weird wearing them. They don’t look like cotton t shirts given the polyester material.

Do you guys generally wear 100% cotton shirts as an under layer under button ups or light jackets?
