10K Salary in this Economy
Is a ₱10,000 monthly salary enough in today’s economy if you’re only supporting yourself?
Context: I applied for a job that I genuinely like and really want to pursue. One year na ako dito. The work itself aligns with what I want, and I feel like it could help me gain experience and grow professionally.
The problem is the salary is only around ₱10,000 a month. I don’t have dependents or anyone I financially support, it’s just me. But I’m still worried if that amount is realistically enough nowadays considering daily expenses, transportation, food, bills, and emergencies.
Would you stay in a job you genuinely like even if the salary feels lacking? Or should I prioritize finding a higher-paying opportunity instead?
I’d really appreciate honest advice, especially from people who started with a similar salary.
