How to deal with bad infestation in new apartment?
For context, my partner and I had been very unlucky with finding an apartment and were days away from homelessness. We did a tour of an apartment and it looked like shit, but we didn't see any glaring issues with it that weren't aesthtic and we were getting desperate. The landlord also had an ozone generator running in there so we were trying to get out asap. We don't have much experience with apartments so we didn't know what to really look for. We ended up going with the apartment because the landlord was allowing us to move in on the day before we became homeless, and we were only 4 days away from that date. When we moved in we started seeing german cockroaches, and we've seen 5 in bright light in the last 24 hours. We put out some poison and contacted the landlord, but the landlord seems like he's going to continue to do the bare minimum without shelling out for a full building extermination(he's selling it to someone else) or making it so that we can sue him for not properly taking care of them. The infestation seems pretty bad and we're both uncomfortable sleeping in a place with that many roaches. We are both at our wits end and spent the last of our money on the poison so we were wondering if there was any way we could deal with these roaches?
Update: The landlord set out 3 gluetraps and said that he would put out more if we kept seeing them.
