Let’s Talk About Gifting Addiction…
I would like to use this post to raise awareness and talk about the darker side of gifting and hear other people’s anonymous stories of their experiences while gifting consistently.
I was never a huge gifter but I started gifting a creator almost everyday at first it was fun and gave me a rush but then after awhile I realized what I was doing was financially irresponsible and only hurting me while benefiting them.
I was just caught up in the attention and dopamine from it.
I have dealt with a gambling addiction in the past and I noticed TikTok gifting gave me the same type of feeling but I’d argue a gifting addiction is even worse than a gambling addiction because there’s nothing to win or gain you become so wrapped up in the TikTok live vortex and don’t even realize how much you’ve spent.
I would like to hear if others have dealt with this or are currently dealing with a gifting addiction.
