Trickier than I thought to bullnose a small round corner with a round over bit on a router.
Instead of buying a bullnose bit, I decided I would just use jigs to cut the bottom of the board with a round over bit. The bearing doesn't have anywhere to align with since I rounded off the other side of the board already.
My corner has a 2 inch radius while my router base has a 3 inch radius. This means that I can't simply make a jig with a smaller round corner. (See the first photo. The dotted line is the path that the edge of my router base would have to follow).
Please let me know if you have any suggestions.
My current ideas are:
Use the round over bit to trim off what I can while the bearing still has contact with the remaining flat edge. Then, sand off the rest.
Add tape to my bearing so the bit nearly lines up where it should be and sand off off the rest.
I'd rather not drill a hole in my board and router base to pivot at the center of the 2 inch radius.
Also I know the bit has a radius to account for. I just didn't feel like doing the mental math again. I wrote it down somewhere.
Edit: Solved! Thanks to flannel_sawdust. I just need to make my jig on the other side of the turn. There will be some alignment difficulties but perfectly doable.
