What permanent dye and developer do I use on my hair?
I was watching a video from this girl on TikTok (@lud) and I wanted to do the same kind of cherry red with pink split hair. She used Igora royal permanent dye in the sahdes 6.88 and 5.88. I bought Lakme Chroma ammonia free permanent dye in the colors 4/99 and 4/22 (I wanted it a lil purple) and I used an old bottle of Olioseta 30vol developer I had opened about a year ago. I only tried to dye a test piece. I know shouldn't be using old developer and a different brand but I did a bleach wash with the same bottle of developer first on a different part of my hair and it seemed to be working still so I used it. My hair is a really dark brown, almost black around my neck just like that TikTok girl's roots but mine barely took any color, you can only see it in the light and her roots seem to have turned out way lighter. I don't want to have to buy a different brand of dye since I still have most of the two bottles I got. Should I just do a bleach wash over my natural hair color or should I just get a new bottle of 40 vol developer and try that 🤔.
