Is this amount of fading normal for 2 weeks?

I’ve never dyed my hair, but this seems abnormal. I paid for a professional bleach & dye job for my daughter to start school. It’s been exactly 2 weeks today and the color is almost completely gone. We used the shampoo advised by the stylist. Should I take her back to the salon? This can’t be normal, right?

I call her Aurora borhairialis (terrible name I know)

Dyed this wig myself. No info to share on the wig as it is from a wholesaler who only takes orders from business owners.

Which color do you think suits me the best,

Hey! I’m booking an appt to color my hair. I want to go darker. I think espresso brown is the color that best suits my complexion without being too harsh (like black) and without pulling the red/pink tones on my face. Let me know what you think! 🙌🏻

So disappointed..The salon sent me home with this unfinished golden-orange mess. Can this be saved?(Edited/updated)

heartbroken and disappointed with how this turned out.

(Added human hair photos that I did show. photos, forgot to on my deletes post)

I was going for a soft, creamy anime blonde inspired by Umaru. I showed the photo to the salon assistant (showed the human hair one realistically and the anime one) who I actually know but the actual stylist ended up leaving me stranded at this harsh, brassy golden-orange stage and sent me home looking like this. The stylist just told me I should wait since it's fresh, but I'm completely stuck with this color..? It looks really orange.😭😭😭😭 And no it wasn't sessions thing where I had to actually go back. And yes actually I showed a human hair realistic look, not just showing anime photos. Cuz I know it was unrealistic of thats why it prepared human looking versions.

PS. Sorry for broken English, it's not my first language.

I'm a total beginner when it comes to hair and this is also my first time getting my hair bleached, so I have no idea what to do next. Can this be fixed? Do I need another round of bleach? Is that bad?, or is there a specific toner/dye I should use to save it? Any step-by-step advice would genuinely mean everything right now. 🥲 Bleaching again could be bad, no?

Help! Daughter's first highlights - bad job, can it be fixed?

My daughter had her first ever highlights done. She’s naturally dark brown and asked for a soft, warm-toned caramel/honey blonde balayage - pic 4 was the inspiration photo she showed the hairdresser.

Pics 1, 2 & 3 are what she actually came away with.

Our biggest issue is that the highlights are very bright bleached and stripey against her natural dark brown hair, with nothing really breaking them up or blending the blonde into the brown. There also aren't any of the warm caramel/honey tones she asked for. They also have an ashy/grey tinge.

When I asked the hairdresser about it afterwards, she said my daughter’s hair had lifted very quickly because of the heat and that she had used a purple shampoo. We won't be going back to the same hairdresser - ever!

Can this be fixed? I feel so bad for her as this was her first time having her hair coloured and it's really not what she wanted. We're hoping to find a colour technician to correct it, but I'd really appreciate some advice on what can realistically be done to get it looking softer, more blended and closer to the warm caramel/honey look she originally asked for. Thanks 🙏🙏

Glossing has turned my hair black… please help!

I’ve just got back from the hair salon and honestly want to cry. I know that sounds dramatic, but my hair is now so dark it looks almost black and it’s completely washed me out.

My natural hair is a medium-to-dark brunette. I’m starting to go slightly grey at the temples and several months ago I used L’Oréal Casting Crème Gloss in Light Brown, which gradually faded very orange and brassy through the lengths. I later had a salon gloss that initially looked much better, but the warmth eventually came back.

Today I explained that I wanted to get rid of the orange and return to a natural, glossy “expensive brunette” not blonde, but with soft dimension rather than one solid colour. The salon put a toner over it and it has come out almost black and very flat. My roots and lengths are now extremely dark, and it doesn’t feel anything like the natural brunette reference photos I showed.

My hair also feels increasingly dry, porous and frizzy, so I’m frightened of panicking and causing more damage. I realise the toner will fade, but I’m worried it will simply fade back to the same orange underneath and I’ll remain trapped in this cycle of brassy hair followed by overly dark toner.

What should my next step be? Is there anything a colour-correction specialist could safely do to soften this now, or do I have to wait for it to fade? Could the excess toner be gently removed without bleach, and would subtle highlights or another technique eventually give me a softer, more dimensional brunette?

I definitely won’t try to fix it myself, but I’m struggling with how dark it is and don’t want to wait several weeks if something safe can be done sooner. When would you contact another salon, and exactly what would you ask for?

Any honest advice from colourists or anyone who has experienced this would be really appreciated.

I attach a photo of now (black!) and my natural hair colour before I started messing around with it.

What colours should I dye my hair?

Hello everyone. I am a brunette and I am planning to get my hair bleached for the second time after a few years. I am mainly looking to dye my hair teal (like picture 1), but I would also like to try orange (picture 2) and purple (picture 4). Does anyone know what color should I dye my hair first after bleaching? I heard that cold tones don’t stay on the hair too long like warm tones do, so technically I should first dye my hair teal? And then maybe orange and then purple?? Or do you guys have any other tips or opinions? I just don’t want the colors to mix and look bad.

Toning Orange

Put ginger over my dark blonde hair at the beginning of the year and now I’m trying to tone it out. Would a toner cut the orange? Thinking 7NA or 7NN? Not trying to be a platinum blonde or anything, just trying to tone the orange out without bleaching or going brunette. Thoughts?

thanks (:

Would a bleach bath lift enough to remove brass?

Would a bleach bath be enough to help remove a good amount of yellow/ brass? 1st pic is with mostly washed out toner/purple shampoo. 2nd pic is after using milkshake black shampoo to get it ashier and it really does help, but I have to use it every single wash or else it becomes too brassy.

I don’t necessarily want to be platinum, just enough lift to not have to fight the darker yellow so hard. I already bleached twice (a month ago) and my hair has recovered nicely, but I really want to avoid a full on lightening session.

toning bleached hair with dye and shampoo /BLUE hair/

Hello! I am going Sonic the Hedgehog blue this year. I am getting my hair bleached professionally and i would ask my hairdresser this, but she is on holiday. After bleaching, i am dyeing my hair by myself. I saw somewhere that you can tone the bleach with dye & shampoo(or) conditioner mix, before dying it. Is this okay to do?
Pls help and thankss

Pre-appointment help!

I want to go the magenta shown in this photo, but here is my hair history:
I have naturally level three hair, which was bleached to get blonde highlights. I wanted to go back to my original color so I went to a stylist who gave me a completely different brown than I asked for. Since I was unhappy, I decided to get a dark brown glaze over that. After a few washes, my hair faded to dark brown at the top with really light brown bits at the bottom where my previous highlights were. I didn’t like this color so I boxed dyed it burgundy. I ended up not liking the burgundy so I went with a semi permanent dark purple color all over. Now my hair is a really dark purple. How do you think my hair is going to respond to a bleach test? Is it possible to get to the color in the photo?

Blue-black maintenance?

I use 1-1 Igora Royal and it’s the perfect blue black, gorgeous!

But I have no idea how to maintain the color in between dye days, or what I’m supposed to do on dye days as well. Do I dye my entire head again every month, roots to ends? Is there a semi permanent dye that can bring back the color without damaging it or idk?

purple over orange/red

about a week ago i dyed my hair red and purple. i ended up disliking the color combo, especially since the red looks orange in most lightings. i love the purple, so i want to completely remove the red/orange and dye it purple. what’s my best way of going about that?

should i do a bleach bath, or straight up bleach it? or should i use color remover? the dye was applied very recently.

How can I fix the hot roots and get the hair inspo I want

I wanted a dark red/ purple color. I had virgin hair and just used what came in the L’Oréal box and followed instructions but ended up with hot roots and my ends look like my natural color. I’m not sure what to do
