Two weeks ago I bought my first Nissan: a 2020 Note E-Power that had just been imported to Ireland from Japan. I don't have anywhere to plug in a car, so this was the most electric I could get.

My (very) old car, a real piece of crap, got about 16-18km per litre (about 48 mpg for the Yanks).

Numerous sources online, including Nissan, said a Note E-Power gets more like 30-35km per litre (about 75 mpg), with an outlier saying about 25km/L.

My first tank and a half in the last two weeks is showing about 18km/L city and 15.5km/L highway, just like my old piece of crap car, if not worse! This used car was 5 times what I paid for my old used one, presumably because of the thousands in extra cost for the batteries.

Why am I getting 50% of the expected fuel economy? I know driving style, A/C etc. can affect mileage, but all these factors are the same in both cars. The only variable is the car model.

Is something wrong with my car, or with all the online sources? What are you getting?
