2 Months since leaving the lot, and handling my very consistent commutes wonderfully! 2,826k Miles. Still can’t get enough of how good it looks.
I have a 2014 Altima SL 122,000 miles and I’m not sure if the previous owner ever did the cvt fluid change. Had the car 9 years and would like to prolong its life. Should I have the Nissan dealer do a drain and fill with new filters?
Please suggest me guys.
As the subject says the little chrome pieces on my fob snapped in half and I was seeing if anyone knows if you can get that price by itself or a shell replacement is possible without getting a brand new key for no reason since it still work
Thanks for the help
I’m thinking about checking out this Nissan maxima tomorrow, he’s selling it for 3.5k which is typical for most cars with 160k+ miles near me. Exterior and interior both look really clean, I’ve heard the engine and tranny runs forever on them but I also know 170k is a lot of mileage. I don’t know too much about cars so I don’t want to buy a car I’ll end up having to pay thousands of dollars in repairs on in the near future so any advice helps
I get this sound whenever I release my brakes. In this video I’m going 0-1 mph. I’m taking it to get serviced tomorrow.
Hey guys,
Wanted to finally introduce my 2001 K11 Micra, Melvin. This has been a massive, ground-up father and daughter garage project built entirely by me and my dad. We've turned him from a standard daily into a full show-spec build, and we just got back from exhibiting him on the Eurostance Paddock stand at Modified Nationals! Up next, we've been selected to showcase him in the exclusive Taste of Tokyo / JDM Bunker section at FuelFest UK!
Since we built everything ourselves, we wanted to drop the spec sheet and get some of your opinions on the next stages, especially the interior.
The Spec Sheet so far:
* The Paint: Full custom multi-stage Candy Sparkle Blurple. The metallic flake and color-shift under the sun or show lights are absolutely wild.
* Body Kit: A rare, genuine Wald body kit paired with a custom-mounted Devil Wing spoiler for that aggressive, wide JDM look.
*Wheels & Stance: Grounded static on high-performance Gaz coilovers over iconic white OZ Racing Superturismo
WRC alloys.
*Handling: Complete Gizab strutbrace kit front and rear to keep the chassis stiff.
*Exhaust: Custom Scorpion exhaust system-gives the little Micra a surprisingly deep, sporty note.
*Audio/Interior: Full custom Pioneer boot build featuring a massive subwoofer paired with a Pioneer CarPlay head unit and a full custom interior overhaul.
*Lighting: Full 360 high-intensity hard tuned under-glow for the night meets.
*reupholstered: door trims, roof lining and trims.
*Seats: currently ep3 type r
Where I need your opinions & advice:
Interesting Bucket Seats (NRG Prisma?): Right now we have civic type r seats installed, but I really want to upgrade to something loud and visually interesting to match the exterior paint. I'm heavily looking at the NRG Prisma series-specifically because they have those wild, color-matched glitter/sparkle fiberglass backs that would tie in perfectly with the Candy Blurple paint. Has anyone run NRG Prismas in a K11 cabin? How is the fitment with the shoulder bolsters against the door cards, and what rails did you use to keep the driving position right? If you have other recommendations for unique, eye-catching seats, let me know!
What's missing? To really make him command attention in the JDM bunker at FuelFest, what small details should we hit next? Engine bay aesthetics? A custom steering wheel to match the new seats?
Let me know what you think of the build! It's been an incredible journey building this with my dad, and we love seeing people's reactions to a Micra done properly.
(Check out the photos attached to see the Candy Blurple flake!)
Does this seem like an exhaust rattle or transmission? AI thinks it’s the exhaust. Thoughts? I don’t want to get a new car but with Nissans transmission history it worries me.
I live in one of the GCC countries in the Middle East and bought a 2024 Nissan Sunny (Versa in the USA) about a year ago from an official Nissan distributor. The car came with a 100,000 km/ 3 year warranty and 60,000 km of free servicing.
I'm coming up on 45,000km now, so I asked the service center about changing the CVT fluid proactively. They told me they only inspect the fluid and don't change it at set intervals. I later checked my owner's manual myself and found that it lists CVT fluid as "inspect only" all the way to 160,000 km, with nothing specified after that — no scheduled change interval at all. When I told them I still wanted to change it anyway as preventive maintenance, they said if I want them to do it (or if I do it myself), I'd have to waive my warranty rights on the transmission to do so.
The reason I'm pushing on this at all is that from what I've read, newer CVTs tend to hold up fine long-term as long as you drive well and you're proactive about changing the fluid roughly every 30,000 miles, rather than waiting for it to show signs of wear. I'm not comfortable just relying on "inspect and see." I previously had a 2013 Altima whose CVT completely failed on me, so I have zero trust in "it looked fine on inspection" as a strategy.
If I do this myself, I'd use the exact NS-3 CVT fluid specified in the owner's manual — not some off-brand equivalent — so it's not like I'd be putting the wrong fluid in.
Looking for advice:
-Has anyone else run into this with a Nissan CVT — being told fluid is inspect-only with no change interval, and then hit with a warranty waiver if you want it changed early anyway?
-Would escalating to Nissan Middle East actually accomplish anything here, or is this just standard regional/manufacturer policy I'll have to live with?
-Anyone who proactively changed their CVT fluid every 30k miles and either got away with it, or had a warranty fight over it later?
-If I changed the CVT fluid myself or at an independent shop using the correct OEM fluid, would Nissan actually be able to tell during a future warranty claim?
-Any advice on how to protect myself here — documentation, specific fluid/procedure to request, anything else worth knowing before my warranty runs out?
Appreciate any real experience with this, especially from other GCC/Middle East Nissan owners.
My car went into limp mode and the electrical started going all crazy so I pulled over and heard a weird noise. I opened the hood and coolant is shooting out of that little hole . What would cause this to happen? Im of course supposed to leave for a week long camping trip 6 hours away tomorrow. I don’t think that’s happening but wondering if it’s something I can fix in a day
I was driving and everything was fine and dandy but then my rpm’s started to wobble when i accelerated and my car started to stutter and it wouldn’t get over 15 mph. When parked it would act like it was about to die and then the rpm’s would shoot back up 1.5. Video was taken when i was on the side of the road :) If anyone could help that would be amazing!!
Also the check engine light was on before this happened and when i read the code it was something with the cruise control.
Recently got myself a Cube. Wanted and needed something cheaper to run. This is my second cube I had a 2013 bitter chocolate mettalic one some years ago and hated I got rid of it. Looking back I wish I had put a new CVT in it. Fast forward to now some life circumstances forced me to downsize ro this 2014 caspian sea example. It's 1 owner, regularly maintained example. Even the CVT has been serviced every 30-38ish thousand miles, as documented on the CarFax. I'm getting ready to schedule ots next CVT service hopefully before i hit 85,000 miles the people at the dealer said there's no need to change the filters with the new technology and fluids and inwas wondering if anyone else had been told that? To me, it didn't sound right but I've been. Wrong before. Also any other recommendations on other maintenance things to keep an eye for?
