I've been a metroidvania player for years and I recently dove into castelvania.

I started with the first one for the NES, then played Super Castelvania IV.

I'm done with the classicvanias, I'm ready to move on to newer ones and I want your help to choose.

Should I play Aria of Sorrow of Symphony of the night first?

Which one feels "older"? I know that SotN was released before, but AoS was on a portable device.
